For years, the folks at Maxon have provided a free and easy way for PC owners to assess system performance through its Cinebench utility. It sure sounds like you!
Cinebench works in part using the code that is part of Maxon's 4D software, to render a three-dimensional scene on your machine using advanced algorithms. These are the ones used to measure the power of your GPU and CPU configuration. In this article we will explain what it is and what it is for.

What is Cinebench and what is it used for?
Cinebench is a very powerful tool to evaluate the performance of a PC and buy it with other equipment. Once the tests have been run, the Cinebench results are displayed using the tool's own scoring system.
In this guide, you will learn not only how to run basic and advanced tests on your PC, but also how it compares to other similar models. This is a great way for reviewers to make sure the new hardware lives up to the manufacturer's claims, as well as for advanced users to verify that their system is still a form of shipping.
How to install Cinebench
Installing Cinebench is as easy as going to the official Maxon website and downloading the tool. This program does not require installation, so once downloaded we will only have to unzip the file and we can start using it immediately. There are versions for Windows and Mac, we just have to use the one that corresponds to our team.
Once downloaded and unzipped, all we have to do is use the executable.
Test OpenGL and CPU in Cinebench
When Cinebench starts, you can perform various tests on your system. The app does this in an entertaining way by rendering a 3D video on your system and then measuring its performance. For example, to check how well OpenGL works, click the " Run " button in the upper left. Cinebench will show an epic video of a car race and then evaluate performance in FPS. You'll also see how this compares to similar PC models in 'Ranking'. For a more informative view, click "Details" in the left pane. From here you can make Cinebench display more useful data, like 'OpenGL version' and specs for your current CPU.
To run full tests on your processor, click "Run" next to the CPU option. Cinebench will compare your processor by rendering a high quality 3D image. Your CPU performance will also be affected if you have other programs running. For a fair test, make sure to close any other apps than Cinebench beforehand. Save and close any open files before doing so. Cinebench uses its own scoring system, measured in units of "cb" to measure CPU performance. After running each test, the app will also show how your CPU compares to other machines.
Cinebench advanced options
Once you have run the basic tests on your graphics card and CPU, click File> Advanced benchmark to see more detailed information. The value of “Ref. Match ”, shown as a percentage, represents how accurately the 3D scene has been rendered on your screen. This is due to the fact that optimizing the driver of commercial graphics cards can sometimes cause pixels to reproduce incorrectly. This is usually invisible to the naked eye, but Cinebench can measure the reference match for any completed test.
Click "Run" next to "CPU (single core)" for a more detailed breakdown of your processor's performance. This will measure the measured speed in "cb" of individual processor cores. Cinebench will also show its MP ratio - the ratio of a single core to multiple cores.
Cinebench compares the performance of your system with other identical models where possible. The key to this is shown in the bottom left of the screen. This displays an orange box representing your score after rendering and a brown box representing an identical system in the ranking list. All other systems are highlighted in blue. Cinebench maintains a huge online database of user-run tests. This is enormously helpful as it helps determine where your system should appear in terms of ranking.
WE RECOMMEND YOU New data places Intel Whiskey Lake and Basin Falls later this yearAs we have seen, Cinebench is a very complete tool that includes a multitude of possibilities. This makes it one of the most used options by experts when evaluating the performance of a team and comparing it with the rest. Cinebench's advanced algorithms are able to take full advantage of each processor and each graphics card, with this you will be sure that not a single one of its transistors has been wasted.
