Colorful b150

If you miss the motherboards with an integrated GPU, Colorful has announced its new Colorful B150-GP104, which as its name indicates, has a powerful Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070 graphics card integrated.

Colorful B150-GP104 technical characteristics

The Colorful B150-GP104 includes the same GeForce GTX 1070 that we can find for desktop systems, so it promises to offer very high performance as well as great energy efficiency. This graphics card seems to be installed directly on the motherboard occupying the space of all the PCI-Express slots, so everything seems to indicate that it will not be possible to upgrade in the future with a more powerful GPU.

The motherboard seems not to conform to the ATX standard so it would be a custom design for a barebone. In the Colorful B150-GP104 we find two PCI expansion slots that we can use for an SSD, a WiFi module or any card that fits in a Mini PCI slot. Regarding RAM, we see the use of more typical SODIMM modules for laptops.

The high energy efficiency achieved by the Pascal architecture allows Nvidia to directly use the desktop versions of the cards in very compact equipment. Hopefully, the gap between desktop and laptop performance will narrow.
