AMD is just over a week away from the launch of its new Radeon RX 5700 series graphics cards based on the new GPU Navi architecture, and while we will see the Radeon RX 5700 XT and RX 5700, there will be no flagship to face the RTX 2080 and RTX 2080 Ti. But, AMD looks like it plans to launch others with higher performance, such as the RX 5950 and RX 5950 XT.

Sapphire registers the Radeon RX 5900, RX 5900 XT, RX 5950 and RX 5950 XT marks

The 'rumor' is not so much. Based on the new Komachi leaks on Twitter, it appears that Sapphire is working on a bunch of new Navi-based Radeon RX 5000 series cards, including some so-called flagship models that we haven't heard of yet. These are the Radeon RX 5900, RX 5900 XT, RX 5950 and RX 5950 XT as the new high-end graphics cards based on Navi, among many more.

Sapphire has registered all of these brands, although there may not be as many models that materialize in stores. It seems highly unlikely that the Radeon RX 5000 series has that many models. AMD hasn't released as many cards in a long time. Perhaps Sapphire has registered these models in advance, and in the end they will be less. We do not know.

However, AMD may still have something to say in the high-end, enthusiastic market segments. There must be a reason AMD did not name the Navi 10 based models as RX 5900 or RX 5800, which would have been logical.

Meanwhile, the RX 5700 series will hit stores on July 7. We will keep you informed.
