Today we are going to give a solution to enable the Group Policy Editor (gpedit.msc) in Windows 10 Home Edition. This version of Windows does not have this option enabled by default and in the following lines we will explain in a simple and infallible way how to have it back.

We have tested it on Windows 10 Home Edition, but it should also work on earlier versions of Windows Home Edition including Windows 7 Home Edition and Windows 8 or 8.1 Home Edition.

Correct installation of gpedit.msc

Let's go through the process step by step so that even novice users can follow it smoothly.

The first thing to do is download an executable file called gpedit-enabler.bat. The file can be downloaded from the following link.

Once downloaded we will run it in administrator mode and wait for the process to finish.

Now we must execute -> gpedit.msc from the start bar. This should open the Group Policy Editor.

Although a restart is not necessary, we can do it anyway in case the Group Policy Editor doesn't work.

After the simple steps above, you should have a Group Policy Editor in Windows 10 Home. Please note that we do not use any third party software to enable Group Policy. The method we are using is official from Windows 10 packages. So this method should be 100% safe and it should work in all conditions.
