Task Scheduler is a tool that has been in Windows for a long time but not used much, and it is usually quite like other tools on this system. It may happen that we need to schedule a task that we do every day and we want to save a couple of clicks to do it, this is where the Task Scheduler comes into action.

Where is the Task Scheduler located?

There are two ways to open this tool, inside the Control Panel we can enter Administrative Tools and it will be listed there.

Another simpler way is to search for it in the start menu, we only enter the word Programmer and it should already appear.

Schedule a task

Using the Task Scheduler tool you can automate virtually any action in Windows in a simple way.

  • To start we click on Create basic task, a window will appear with the wizard. In the first step you only have to indicate the name and a description.

In the next step we have the Trigger, which is where we program when the event is going to run, for a specific date or through an action, such as when you log into the computer.

If we choose a date, we will have to configure the exact time and minutes when that action will occur and if they will be repeated systematically (daily, weekly, monthly, etc.)

In the latter case, we are going to have to set the action that we are going to program, such as opening an application. In the example we choose the CCleaner to perform a system cleanup on the date indicated.

This would be the easiest way to schedule a task in Windows 10, I hope you found it useful and see you next time.
