Performance comparison: gtx 960 vs gtx 1660 vs rtx 2060

Each of the mid-range graphics cards compete in this interesting comparison. The famous GTX 960, GTX 1060, recent GTX 1660 and RTX 2060 are dueling in some recent video games to see how the mid-range has evolved in recent years, and whether it is worth taking the leap from a modest GTX 960.

Nvidia GeForce GTX 960 vs GTX 1660 vs RTX 2060

For this test, a 5 GHz Core i9-9900K with 32 GB of DDR4-3200 memory was used and the Game Ready 419.35 WHQL drivers were used for the GeForce GPUs.

Moving on to the recently launched 'The Division 2' and we find ourselves in a desperate situation with the GTX 960, with just about 27 fps on average with Ultra quality, of course.

In tests with Just Cause 4, the new low-cost Turing GPU provided slightly more than twice as many frames as the GTX 960.

Jumping from 32fps on average to 65fps with the GTX1660 is massive and makes jumping and flying while attacking your enemies much easier.

The GTX 960 performs decently in Far Cry New Dawn at 1080p using the ultra quality preset. Pretty impressive and really speaks to how well optimized this game is.

SHADOW OF THE TOMB RAIDER

With Shadow of the Tomb Raider, using the best preset quality, the old Nvidia GPU achieves an average of 34 fps and with a frame drop of up to 20 fps. In the meantime. The recent GTX 1660 gets 124% more performance at the same resolution and quality.

As for consumption, the modest GTX 960 does its homework well and is the one that consumes the least (226 watts), while the RTX 2060 turns out to consume above 330 watts at full load.

Conclusions

The conclusion that we could draw is that the jump towards a GTX 1660 seems more than justified if you come from the GTX 960 or something equivalent, easily doubling the performance of this and a little more.
