Comparison: doogee voyager dg 300 vs samsung galaxy s3
Table of contents:
After a comparison with the Samsung Galaxy S4, now it is the turn of another member of the Galaxy family to measure their strength against the Doogee Voyager DG 300: the Samsung Galaxy S3. Although we are talking about terminals of different ranges and with quite different specifications as we will see, what we are looking for is to discover if the difference between their costs is justified with respect to their quality. Immediately we will leave doubts:
Technical characteristics:
Design: The Galaxy S4 measures 136.6 mm high × 70.6 mm wide × 10.4 mm thick and weighs 130 grams. Its casing is made of plastic polycarbonate and with a shiny finish. We can find it available in navy blue and white. Voyager meanwhile is 140.2mm high x 73mm wide x 9.4mm thick. Its casing has a resistant plastic finish.
Camera: The S3's main camera features 8 megapixels and BSI technology (which improves snapshots in low light conditions), plus an LED flash. Its front camera has 1.3 megapixels, useful in any case for video conferencing or photography. The DG 300 features a 5-megapixel rear lens with LED flash and a 2-megapixel front one. The Galaxy S3 also makes video recordings in 720p quality at 30 fps.
Screen: they have a similar size, although in the case of Voyager it is slightly higher thanks to its 5 inches, compared to the 4.8 inches that the Galaxy presents. Its resolutions are different: 1280 x 720 pixels in the case of the S3 and 960 x 540 pixels if we refer to the Doogee. Both terminals have IPS technology, which gives them very vivid colors and a great viewing angle. In the case of the S3 we also have in mind the super AMOLED technology , which allows it to have more brightness, reflect less sunlight and consume less energy. The Samsung also has Gorilla Glass 2 accident protection .
Processor: the Galaxy S3 for its part has an Exynos 4 Quad 4-core Soc that works at 1.4 GHz and Mali 400 MP GPU, while the DG 300 presents a MTK6572 Dual core 1.3 GHz CPU and a Mali GPU - 400 MP. The Galaxy RAM has twice the capacity of Voyager, being 1 GB and 512 MB respectively. As for the operating system, both devices share Android, in version 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich in the case of S3 and Android 4.2.2. Jelly Bean if we mean the Doogee.
Internal Memory: The Galaxy S3 has two different terminals for sale: one of 16 GB and the other of 32 GB. Its memory can be expanded up to 64 GB thanks to its microSD card slot. Voyager for its part has a single 4GB ROM model that can be expanded to 32GB also thanks to microSD cards.
Batteries: The capacity of 2500 mAh presented by the Chinese model is greater than the 2100 mAh that accompany that of the Galaxy S3. The Doogee will have greater autonomy thanks also to the lower power required for its optimization.
Connectivity: although both terminals have WiFi, 3G, Bluetooth , FM radio, etc., 4G / LTE technology is present in the case of the Galaxy S3 (depending on the market).
Availability and price:
The S3 can be found for sale for 269 euros and in white or blue on the pccomponentes website. Something that is not bad for the quality of this high-end, although more than one is out of budget. As for the Doogee Voyager DG 300, we can say that it is a rather modest terminal and much cheaper: available for 85 euros in black or white also on the website of pccomponentes.
