Our new contender to face our iOcean X7 HD is none other than Samsung's flagship, the Galaxy S4. As we did with the S3, now is the time for the older brother of the family to get into our private ring and fight in some way against this Chinese low cost model. We are talking about a smartphone that has suffered the occasional “cut” with respect to its original model in order to reduce its price, although it still has good features that have little to envy other terminals of higher ranges. Screens: the Samsung Galaxy S4 has an excellent 5 inches Full HD super AMOLED (which is characterized by being brighter, less reflective of the sun and consuming less energy) and a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, which translates to a density of 441 dpi. As protection against accidents, it uses the glass manufactured by the company Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The iOcean for its part also has a size of 5 inches although with a different resolution: 1280 x 720 pixels. Processors: the Samsung Galaxy S4 It has a more powerful CPU thanks to its Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 at 1.9 GHz. The iOcean X7 HD, meanwhile, features a 1.30 GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6582 SoC and a Mali400MP2 graphics chip . The RAM memory of iOcean and Samsung have 1 and 2 GB of capacity respectively. Both terminals do share the operating system: Adroid 4.2 Jelly Bean.

Cameras: The iOcean features an 8-megapixel primary lens with F / 2.2 focal aperture and an LED flash. Its front camera has 2 megapixels, very useful for video conferencing or photography. The Galaxy has an appreciable 13 megapixels, which are accompanied by the autofocus function and an LED flash. It also has a 2 megapixel front camera. It is capable of making video recordings in Full HD 1080p quality at 30 fps.

Internal memories : the iOcean X7HD has a model on the market with 4 GB of ROM , with the possibility of expansion via microSD card up to 32 GB . In the case of the Samsung we speak of three different models, one of 16, one of 32 and the other of 64 GB, expandable up to 64 GB by means of micro SD.

Batteries : The company offers us the possibility to choose between a 2000 mAh capacity battery or a 3000 mAh battery. The capacity of the Samsung is 2600 mAh. As we can see, both terminals will have excellent autonomy.

Designs: The iOcean X7HD has dimensions of 141.8 mm high × 69 × 8.95 mm thick. Its casing is made of aluminum. The Samsung for its part has a size of 136.6 mm high × 69.8 mm wide × 7.9 mm thick and weighs 130 grams . It has a resistant plastic finish (polycarbonate).

Connectivity : both terminals have basic connections that we are used to like the WiFi, 3G or Bluetooth , although we must add that the Galaxy offers LTE / 4G support .

Prices and availability: it will be a long time before seeing the iOcean in our country, since in mid-January it was released in its own country (China), for a price in yuan that in exchange is slightly less than 100 euros, about 96 euros approximately. Another option is to purchase it directly from China for the price indicated above, without of course counting customs costs.
