Comparison: motorola moto e vs motorola moto g
Table of contents:
We continue with the comparisons of the Motorola Moto E, this time against one of its closest relatives: our beloved Motorola Moto G. The Moto E is a terminal with rather humble qualities but which has a cost within the reach of the vast majority of users. The Moto G is somewhat higher in terms of specs, going higher in price. Once we expose each of its characteristics, we can draw a more solid conclusion regarding its value for money. We start:
Technical characteristics:
Screens: The screen of the Motorola Moto E is slightly smaller at 4.3 inches, compared to 4.5 inches that of the Moto G. They also do not share the same resolution, being 1280 x 720 pixels in the case of the Moto G and 960 x 540 pixels if we refer to the Moto E. The Moto G 's screen is TFT, while the Moto E's features IPS technology, giving it an almost full viewing angle and highly defined colors. The one in the Motorola E is protected from shocks thanks to its Corning Gorilla Glass 3.
Cameras: both terminals coincide in the fact of having a main objective that has 5 megapixels, which are differentiated mainly by the fact that the Moto E lacks an LED flash and the Moto G does present it. As for the front cameras, we can say that the Moto E does not have one, while the Moto G does have this feature, with 1.3 megapixels. The two smartphones make video recordings in HD 720p quality at 30 fps.
Processors: they coincide at the manufacturer but they are of a different model, turning out to be a dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 SoC that runs at 1.2 GHz and an Adreno 302 graphics chip in the case of the Moto E and a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 CPU at 1.2 GHz and Adreno 305 GPU . They do match in their RAM, being 1 GB in both cases. Its operating systems are Android 4.4.2 Kit Kat in the case of Moto E and Android 4.3 Jelly Bean -updatable this year- in the case of Moto G.
Designs: The Moto E has dimensions of 124.8 mm high x 64.8 mm wide x 12.3 mm thick. It has a plastic casing that also has a rubbery back, something that makes it easier to grip. It is available in white or black. The Motorola Moto G presents a very similar size, although somewhat superior in every way with its 129.9 mm high x 65.9 mm wide and 11.6 mm thick. Its weight stands at 143 grams and it has very sophisticated protections, one known by the name of " Grip Shell ", which thanks to its small "caps" we can easily place face down on the smartphone, avoiding possible scratches. Its other casing, the " Flip Shell ", allows you to completely close the device, leaving an opening on the part of the screen to be able to use it without any problem.
Batteries: Moto E and Moto G have a very similar capacity, being 1980 mAh and 2070 mAh respectively. These capabilities in relation to their performance will give them a very similar autonomy.
Internal Memories: while the Moto E has a single 4GB ROM model, the Moto G has an 8GB and a 16GB terminal for sale. The Moto E also has a microSD card slot of up to 64 GB, while the Moto G is replaced by a lack of free storage of 50 GB on Google Drive for two years.
Connectivity: both terminals have basic connections that we are usually used to, such as WiFi, 3G, Bluetooth or FM radio, without 4G / LTE connectivity being present in any case.
