Comparison: motorola moto g vs nokia lumia 625
The next smartphone of the Lumia family to go through our comparisons is the model 625, another mid-range placed in front of the Moto G and to which we will be gutting along these lines. Let's see next if the brand bought by Microsoft lives up to the manufacturer backed by Google. Stay tuned:
Let's start with its screens: the Nokia Lumia 625 has a 4.7-inch IPS LCD screen with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels and 199 dpi. The Moto G features 4.5 inches and a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels with a density of 329 ppi. The glass of the company Corning Gorilla Glass 3 is responsible for protecting the screen of the Moto G. The Gorilla Glass 2 does the same in the case of the Lumia 625.
Now its processors: while the Nokia Lumia 625 features a 1.2GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 SoC; the Moto G has a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 CPU. Both phones have an Adreno 305 GPU . The Moto G has 1GB RAM and the 512MB Lumia 625. The Motorola operating system is Android in version 4.3 Jelly Bean, while for the Nokia it is Windows Phone 8 "Amber".
Cameras: Both smartphones have a 5 megapixel rear lens with autofocus, LED flash and video recording of 720p at 30 fps in the case of the Moto G and 1080p at 30 fps in the case of the Lumia, among other functions. The Nokia's front camera has 0.3 MP and a resolution of 640 x 480 pixels, while the Moto G's has 1.3 MP, so both devices offer the possibility of making video calls and self-portraits.
The connections that the Moto G presents are very basic today, since they are presented by practically all the mobile phones on the market, be they smartphones or not: we are talking about WiFi, Bluetooth and 3G, for example. Instead the Nokia Lumia 625 offers LTE / 4G support.
We will continue with his designs: the Lumia 625 has a size of 133.2 mm high x 72.2 mm wide x 9.2 mm thick and weighs 159 grams. The Moto G has dimensions of 129.9 mm high × 65.9 mm wide × 11.6 mm thick and weighs 143 grams. The Nokia model, despite being less thick, is larger, so its mass is greater than that of the Moto G. This device protects itself from shocks with two types of casing: the " Grip Shell " that surrounds the terminal and the " Flip Shell " that completely surrounds it, although with a front opening that allows the good use of the screen. The Lumia 625 has a removable back cover made of white, black, orange or yellow polycarbonate, which offers some flexibility and robustness against shocks.
As for their internal memories: both devices have for sale an 8 GB model, although in the case of the Moto G we also find another 16 GB. Only the Lumia model features a microSD card slot up to 64GB.
Its batteries have practically the same capacity: the Moto G features 2070 mAh and the Lumia 625 2200 mAh. This, added to their powers that are also very similar, gives each one of them a good autonomy.
Finally, its prices: the Moto G can be ours for just 175 euros thanks to Amazon. A very good price in relation to its characteristics. The Lumia has a somewhat higher price, 223 euros if we buy it free on the web pccomponentes.
Author's conclusion: I could personally say that I stick with the Motorola Moto G, not only for price or its processor, but above all for its operating system. I am very familiar with Android and I stay with it.
