We are getting closer to Christmas and the Kings so we continue with our comparisons between smartphones of great interest today, this time we compare the One Plus X with the Apple iPhone 6S Plus, two terminals with cutting-edge specifications and impressive features that will offer an excellent user experience to all users. Without a doubt any of them will be a magnificent gift.

First of all we remind you that you have the One Plus X review on our website:

One Plus X Review

Technical characteristics:

Design

Both smartphones are presented with a unibody design that has a higher quality finish but has the drawback of not allowing the battery to be removed for replacement. The One Plus X stands a notch above when presented with a much more pampered design, somewhat ironic when the Apple terminal costs three times more money.

In the case of One Plus X a metallic structure is observed for a high quality finish and a more premium appearance , it also includes a finish in Ceramic zirconite for greater scratch resistance. The iPhone 6S Plus is presented in the usual Apple design based on a high-quality aluminum chassis.

The One Plus X is presented with dimensions of 140 x 69 x 6.9 mm and a weight of 160 grams. On the other hand, the iPhone 6S Plus has measures of 158.2 x 77.9 x 7.3 mm and a weight of 192 grams. A very significant but logical difference in size and weight when having the Apple smartphone half an inch more than screen.

The One Plus X ranks far above the design with a finish worthy of smartphones that cost 2 or 3 times more money.

screen

As for the screen, the iPhone 6S Plus is far above in dimensions with a diagonal of 5.5 inches and a generous resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels (401 ppi). Against this we come across the 5-inch diagonal of the One Plus X at the same resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, which allows it to reach a slightly higher pixel density with (441 ppi). The iPhone 6S Plus incorporates Force Touch and Display Zoom technologies.

Beyond this, if we find more significant differences, it is that the iPhone 6S Plus has IPS technology and the One Plus X with AMOLED technology, in both cases to ensure high image quality and excellent viewing angles. We note that AMOLED technology is more energy efficient and offers more saturated colors and warmer tones than IPS displays.

Both have protective glass to keep the screen looking new for a long time, in the case of the One Plus X we find Corning Gorilla Glass 3 while the iPhone 6S Plus has proprietary Apple technology.

The One Plus X is committed to a panel of smaller dimensions and with AMOLED technology.

Optics

We arrived at the optician and observed excellent units in both cases. The iPhone 6S Plus mounts a 12-megapixel main camera with autofocus, face detection, optical stabilizer, and dual-tone dual LED flash. This time we do not know the pixel size nor do we know if the autofocus of the camera is by laser. As for the front camera, it has a 5 megapixel unit that can record at 1080p and 30 fps. In addition, the front camera features facial detection, HDR and slow motion mode at 720p and 240 fps.

The One Plus X mounts a 13-megapixel main camera with autofocus, face detection, and dual-tone dual-LED flash capable of recording video at 1080p and 30 fps. This time we do not know the pixel size nor do we know if the autofocus of the camera is by laser. As for the front camera, it has an 8 megapixel unit that can record at 1080p and 30 fps.

Processor

We arrived at one of the points with the greatest differences between both smartphones, since they both mount two very different hearts that have nothing to do with each other, making it very difficult to compare them fairly, especially when they are governed by two operating systems. they also have nothing in common.

The One Plus X has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor manufactured at 28nm and formed by four Krait 400 cores at 2.3 GHz. As for the graphics, it has the powerful Adreno 330 GPU that offers very high power. An older chip but that was once a true top of the range and that is still capable of offering a user experience that has nothing to envy its older brothers.

While the iPhone 6S Plus mounts an Apple A9 processor manufactured by both TSNC at 16nm and Samsung at 14nm and consisting of two Cyclone cores at 1.84 GHz, Apple's own design based on Cortex A57 but with a good dose of steroids to offer performance per core unattainable by other processors although the fact of mounting only two cores places it below in situations where all the cores of other chips will be used. This time the graphics are done by the PowerVR GT7600 GPU. Next to the Apple A9 processor is an M9 coprocessor that is responsible for processing all the data from the sensors.

Apple relies on a processor with fewer cores but heavily customized for flawless performance

RAM and storage

The One Plus X is presented in a single version with 3 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage expandable by up to an additional 128 GB, although for this we must sacrifice the second SIM card slot.

For its part, the iPhone 6S Plus has 2 GB of RAM and presents the possibility of choosing between an internal storage of 16/64/128 GB. You will NOT be able to expand its storage as it lacks a microSD slot.

WE RECOMMEND One Plus X: technical characteristics, availability and price

OS

We arrived at the operating system and we found differences in terms of the degree of customization of the operating system and its version, with the Nexus 5X taking the lead in this regard as a good Nexus.

In the case of the One Plus X, it has the OxygenOS customization based on Android 5.1. A ROM that is proving to be very fluid and that you can see in greater depth in our review of the One Plus X that we have linked to you at the beginning of this post.

The iPhone 6S Plus features an iOS 9 specifically designed to work with Apple hardware and extract every last drop of performance. A software known for its enviable performance and fluidity.

Two very different operating systems, at this point Apple starts with the advantage of having software that adapts to your hardware like a key does with its corresponding lock.

Battery

The One Plus X offers a battery significantly less than 2, 525 mAh while the iPhone 6S Plus offers a battery with a capacity of 2, 750 mAh. In both cases the battery is not removable. An advantage in this regard for the iPhone by having a greater capacity although the optimization of the software and the consumption of the processor are no less important.

Connectivity

Both terminals demonstrate a good level and present various connectivity options such as WiFi 802.11b / g / n, 3G, 4G LTE, Bluetooth, OTG, A-GPS, GLONASS. No surprise in this aspect in which we find everything that a smartphone of these characteristics can offer today. Something to keep in mind is that the Chinese version of the One Plus X does not have the 800 Mhz band in 4G while the international version does.

It is important to note that the One Plus X offers the attractive FM Radio that Apple's terminal lacks, a point that can be decisive for many users. In addition, the NFC chip of the iPhone 6S Plus can only be used in Apple Pay, although the One Plus X does not have it so there is no great difference in this regard.

The One Plus X takes chest with the presence of FM Radio while the iPhone 6S Plus does so with a very limited NFC chip in use.

Availability and price:

The One Plus X is now available to book in the main Chinese online stores for an approximate price of 300 euros. The iPhone 6S Plus has a starting price of 859 euros in its 16 GB version, 969 euros for the 64 GB version and 1079 euros for the 128 GB version. A considerably lower price in the case of the One Plus X despite offering a much more premium finish.
