We continue with our comparisons between smartphones with a similar price in the market, this time we are going to put face to face the new One Plus X with the Bq Aquaris M5 that has already been on the market for a few months. Two options with a very very similar price but with perhaps not so same specifications, discover with us their differences.

Design

Both smartphones are presented with a unibody design that has a higher quality finish but has the drawback of not allowing the battery to be removed for replacement. Optics

We get to the optician and we see the same specifications on the main camera in the two smartphones, so the software will be in charge of making the differences in this regard. Both the Aquaris M5 and One Plus X 2015 mount a main camera based on a 13-megapixel Sony IMX 214 sensor assisted by a dual LED flash, autofocus and face detection. With this sensor they are capable of recording video at a resolution of 1080p and a speed of 30 fps.

If you look at the front camera the Bq Aquaris M5 mounts a 5 megapixel sensor and the case of the One Plus X is an 8 megapixel sensor, one more point for the One Plus X in this regard.

We get to the heart that will mark the performance of both smartphones and as we are going to check the One Plus X mounts an older chip but with more power than the one mounted by the Bq Aquaris M5 so its performance will be superior to the terminal of the Spanish firm.

In the case of the Bq Aquaris M5 we find an well-known Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor manufactured in 28nm and consisting of eight Cortex A53 cores at a maximum frequency of 1.5 GHz along with the Adreno 405 GPU, a combination that offers good performance and that you can move all the applications on Google Play and all games.

For its part, the One Plus X is one step above with a more powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor also manufactured at 28nm but with the addition of having four Krait 400 cores at 2.3 GHz. As for the graphics, it has the powerful Adreno 330 GPU that offers very high power.

RAM and storage

The One Plus X is presented with 3 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage expandable up to an additional 128 GB although for this we will have to sacrifice the second slot for the SIM card. For its part, the Bq Aquaris M5 is presented with 2 GB of RAM and an expandable storage of 16 GB, in this case with a maximum of 32 additional GB

OS

We arrived at the operating system and we found some differences regarding the degree of customization of the operating system and its version in the case of Android Lollipop in both terminals. In the case of the Bq Aquaris M5 it is a version of Android 5.0 Stock while the One Plus X has the OxygenOS customization based on Android 5.1.

Battery

The Aquaris M5 offers a Li-Pro battery with a capacity of 3, 120 mAh. On the other hand, the One Plus X offers a considerably smaller battery of 2, 525 mAh, in both cases they are NOT removable. On paper, the Aquaris M5 seems much superior in this regard, although it remains to be seen how both terminals will manage power.

The Bq Aquaris M5 offers a larger battery although its hardware is more powerful and will demand more energy.

Connectivity

Both terminals demonstrate a good level and present various connectivity options such as WiFi 802.11b / g / n, 3G, 4G LTE, Bluetootht 4.0, OTG, A-GPS, GLONASS and FM radio. No surprise in this aspect in which we find everything that a mid-range smartphone can offer today.

Availability and price:

The One Plus X is now available to book in the main Chinese online stores for an approximate price of 260 euros. For its part, the Bq Aquaris M5 can be found in the manufacturer's official store also for a price of 260 euros. Two identical prices for two different terminals, one of them less powerful and with a lower quality finish although we will be sure to have a guarantee in Spain in case there is a problem.
