Comparison: oneplus one vs google nexus 5
Table of contents:
After the "battles" that had the Oneplus One as the protagonist against the Motorola Moto G first and the Moto E later, now it is the turn of one of the Greats of Google, the Google Nexus 5. We will be checking throughout the comparison as in some of the features these smartphones are quite similar but nevertheless in others they are not so much. But that at this moment brings us carelessly, what we really pursue with these types of articles is, in addition to letting you know terminals that perhaps you had not heard of or perhaps they did sound familiar to you but you did not know them very deeply, we are also interested and above all to reach a certain conclusion about its value for money, which of these smartphones presents the best. We are open to all kinds of opinions and please, do not be shy and leave us your comments below. Let us begin:
Technical characteristics:
Designs: The Nexus has less thickness and dimensions of 137.84 mm high × 69.17 mm wide × 8.59 mm thick and weighs 130 grams, so it is smaller than the Oneplus and its 152.9 mm high x 75.9 mm wide x 8.9 mm thick and 162 grams of weight. The Nexus has a plastic back, making it comfortable to the touch and easy to grip. We can find it for sale in full black or white on the back and black on the front. The One for its part features a chrome outer rim body with subtle curves and a slim profile. It is available in black and white.
Cameras: while the main sensor of the Oneplus –manufactured by Sony- has 13 megapixels, with f / 2.0 focal aperture and a Dual LED flash, the one of the Nexus manages with 8 megapixels and normal LED flash. As for its front cameras, the One continues to take advantage of it thanks to its 5 megapixel camera compared to the 2.1 megapixel existing in the case of the Nexus. The two phones make video recordings: in 4K resolution with slow motion at 720p up to 120fps if we talk about the Oneplus; and in Full HD 1080p quality at 30 fps if we refer to the Nexus 5.
Screens: Although the 4.95 inches presented by the Nexus 5 make it a very large screen, they are not enough to reach the 5.5 inches that make an appearance on the Oneplus. Yes they share the same resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, in addition to the fact of presenting IPS technology, which gives them a great viewing angle and very vivid colors. Both screens are also protected from accidents thanks to the glass manufactured by Corning Gorilla Glass 3.
Processors: in this aspect they are almost identical, due to some small difference, so we can say that the Nexus has a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 SoC that runs at 2.26 GHz while the Oneplus features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 CPU quad-core 2.5 GHz; As you can see, the difference is not very remarkable. As for their graphics chips, both terminals have Adreno 330, although they do differ in their RAM, turning out to be 2 GB in the case of the Nexus 5 and 3 GB if we refer to the One model. The operating system is also not the same, with Android being present in version 4.4 Kit Kat in the case of Google smarthone and CyanogenMod 11S (based on Android 4.4) if we talk about Oneplus.
Connectivity: both terminals have networks such as 3G , WiFi or Bluetooth , in addition to allowing us to enjoy LTE / 4G technology .
Internal memories: both terminals coincide in the fact that they have for sale a Smartphone with 16 GB of internal storage, although both also have a second model on the market but with different ROMs, being 32 GB in the case of the Nexus and 64 GB if we refer to the One. Both devices lack a microSD card slot, making the internal storage roomy.
WE RECOMMEND YOUGalaxy J2 Core: The first Samsung with Android GoBatteries: they have a very different capacity of 3100 mAh in the case of the Oneplus and 2300 mAh if we refer to the Nexus 5. In relation to the rest of the characteristics of one and the other model, an important gap can be opened between the duration of their autonomies.
Availability and price:
The Oneplus One can be ours through the web ishoppstore.com for a price of 290 euros in the case of the 16 GB model and for about 350 euros in the case of the 64 GB model while the Nexus 5 is a fairly terminal more expensive than at the moment we can find it on the pccomponentes website for a price of 309 euros and 16 GB of internal memory.
