Comparison: samsung galaxy s5 vs samsung galaxy s3
The comparisons of the Samsung Galaxy S5 continue, this time from the hand of another very close relative: the S3 model. Throughout the article we will see if the newcomer to the family lives up to what is expected of him or at least, is at the cost, offering us a good quality / price ratio. Although perhaps we are talking about terminals of different ranges, the specifications of the Galaxy S3, as many of you may already know, are very remarkable. In professional Review what we seek to find is if the proportions of its costs are in line with that of its characteristics. We begin:
Designs: Regarding size, the Galaxy S5 has dimensions of 142 mm high x 72.5 mm wide x 8.1 mm thick and weighs 145 grams. Its back has a texture of small perforations that give it originality and most importantly, comfort in the grip. We can find it available in four attractive colors: the classic black and white, in addition to gold or blue. It features a new, clearer and more intuitive interface, with more visual and easy-to-navigate icons. The Samsung Galaxy S5 also has the IP67 certificate, which means that it is a smartphone resistant to water and dust. The fingerprint scanner gives you great security. The Samsung Galaxy S3 for its part has a size of 136.6 mm high × 70.6 mm wide × 8.6 mm thick and weighs 133 grams. We can find it available in navy blue and white.
Screens: both terminals have a similar screen, being 4.8 inches in the case of the S3 and 5.1 inches if we talk about the S5. They also have different resolution, being 1920 x 1080 pixels if we talk about the S5 and 1280 x 720 pixels if we refer to the S3. Samsung's flagship has a super AMOLED screen (it consumes less energy and is more visible in sunlight), while the Galaxy S4 features IPS technology, making it possible to have very sharp colors and be equipped with a wide angle of viewing. Both use Corning Gorilla Glass crystal crash protection , type 2 for the S4 and type 3 for the S5.
Cameras: The main lenses of the S3 and S5 feature 8 and 16 megapixels respectively. Features of the S5 include Selective Focus (clearly capturing what you want, giving depth and professionalism to your snapshots), higher speed between shots, and a very accurate light sensor. The Galaxy S3 features BSI technology (which improves snapshots in low light conditions), plus an LED flash. Its front cameras have 2 megapixels in the case of the Galaxy S5 and 1.3 megapixels if we refer to the S4, useful for video conferencing or photography. The recordings are carried out in UHD 4K @ 30 fps quality if we refer to the S5 and in HD 720p at 30 fps respectively.
Batteries: we have the 2800 mAh of the S5 model compared to the 2100 mAh that the Samsung S3 offers us. As we can see, the difference between the capacities of both batteries is palpable, which will be noticeable in their autonomies, although the "last word" has the type of use that is given to the terminal.
Connectivity: both terminals have basic connections that we are used to like the WiFi, 3G or Bluetooth , although we must add that they also offer LTE / 4G support (in the case of the S3 depending on the market).
Processors: On the part of the older brother of the Galaxy family we have a Quad-core CPU that runs at 2.5 GHz, accompanied by the Adreno 330 GPU. The Galaxy S4 is accompanied by an Exynos 4 Quad 4-core SoC at 1.4 GHz and Mali400MP graphics chip . They don't match in RAM, as the S5 model is backed by 2GB, while the S3 copes with 1GB. As operating system we have Android 4.4.2 Kit Kat for the Galaxy S5 and Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich for the Samsung Galaxy S3.
WE RECOMMEND YOU Comparison: Jiayu S1 vs Sony Xperia ZInternal Memory: both terminals have two models for sale, one of 16 GB and the other of 32 GB, in addition to presenting microSD card slots of up to 64 GB in the case of the S4 and up to 128 GB in the case of the Galaxy S5.
Availability and price: if we refer to the Samsung Galaxy S5 we can say that we are talking about a great phone. We find it available for example on the website of pccomponentes for 665 - 679 euros depending on the color and version of 16 GB. The S3 for its part is currently sold at various prices below and above 300 euros, depending on its color or some other feature (seen in pc components for 269, 295 and 345 euros). It is clearly a more "humble" terminal but also much cheaper today.
