Comparison: samsung galaxy s5 vs xiaomi mi 3

Anonim

This time it is the turn of the older brother of the Galaxy family, the S5, to stand up to the Xiaomi Mi3. Both terminals have excellent features, although their prices have a quite remarkable difference. Throughout the comparison, each of the specifications that accompany these terminals will be exposed, so that in the end and as always we can see if their quality justifies the amount they ask us to be able to get one of them. In short, to check if its quality / price ratio is good, bad or admissible. Stay tuned:

Designs: Regarding size, the Galaxy S5 has dimensions of 142 mm high x 72.5 mm wide x 8.1 mm thick and weighs 145 grams, compared to 114 mm high × 72 mm width × 8.1 mm thickness. Especially surprising is the 8.1 mm thickness of the Chinese model, since it is very thin considering the battery of this phone. Manufactured in an aluminum-magnesium alloy, it allows an ultra-thin design and thanks to its graphite thermal film it achieves better heat dissipation. It has a resistant plastic finish (polycarbonate). For its part, the S5 has a rear part with small perforations that give it comfort in the grip. We can find it available in white, black, gold and blue. It also has the IP67 certificate, which means that it is a smartphone resistant to water and dust.

Screens: They have an almost identical size thanks to the 5 inches of the Xiaomi and the 5.1 inches of the Galaxy. They share the same 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution. The Xiaomi has an ultra-sensitive screen with IPS technology, making it possible for them to have very sharp colors and be equipped with a wide viewing angle. The one of the Samsung for its part is super AMOLED (it consumes less energy and is more visible in sunlight). Both use Corning Gorilla Glass 3 crystal accident protection in the case of the Galaxy and Gorilla Glass if we refer to Gorilla Glass.

Cameras: its rear lenses are 13 megapixels in the case of the Xiaomi and 16 megapixels if we talk about the Samsung. The Mi 3 features a dual Philips LED flash that improves light intensity by 30%, allowing for faster shutter speeds. The one in the Galaxy has functions such as autofocus, LED flash, plus a Selective Focus (clearly capturing what you want, giving depth and professionalism to your snapshots), higher speed between shots and shots, and a very precise light sensor. Both front cameras have a wide-angle and 2-megapixel camera, useful for video calls or profile photos on social networks. The Galaxy S5 is Able to make video recordings in UHD and 4K quality at 30 fps.

Processors: in the case of the Chinese model we are talking about a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8274AB 4-core SoC at 2.3GHz, while if we refer to the Galaxy S5 we have a Quad-core CPU that runs at 2.5 GHz. They do share the same graphics chip: Adreno 330, so in both cases we will have great performance and visual experience, especially in games. They also coincide in RAM memory: 2 GB. Yes they differ in the operating system: MIUI v5, based on Android 4.1 for the Xiaomi and Android 4.4.2 Kit Kat for the Samsung Galaxy S5.

Internal Memory: the two models coincide in having a 16 GB model for sale, although they also present another one in the market, 64 GB if we talk about the Xiaomi and 32 GB if we refer to the Galaxy S5. The Samsung model also has a microSD card slot of up to 128 GB, something that does not happen with the Xiaomi.

Batteries: we have the 3050 mAh of the Chinese model compared to the 2800 mAh that the Samsung offers us, so in both cases we are talking about terminals that have excellent autonomy.

WE RECOMMEND YOU Xiaomi Mi7 looks spectacular in the first renders

Connectivity: both terminals have basic connections that we are used to like WiFi, 3G or Bluetooth, although we must add that the Galaxy offers LTE / 4G support .

Availability and price: the price of the Xiaomi Mi3 ranges from € 335 for the 16GB model to € 380 for the 64GB model of internal memory, according to its distribution website in Spain. The S5 is currently sold for more than 600 euros (available on the pccomponentes website for 665 - 679 euros depending on its capacity and in different colors). It is a smartphone that has excellent characteristics but is also unfortunately not within the reach of the public.
