Comparison: xiaomi redmi note vs lg nexus 5
Table of contents:
After passing through these parts of the Nexus 4, we now have the Nexus 5 as a new applicant in our ring, who arrives ready to measure his forces with the Xiaomi Redmi Note. Following the presentations, the Google phone landed some time ago in the market, being installed directly among the highest range of smartphones and that this time we are going to compare with our low cost Chinese model . Perhaps more than one already knows which of these phones has better characteristics, but here it is a question of checking if their prices are in line with the benefits that each of them offers us. Let's get started !:
Technical characteristics:
Design: the Xiaomi Redmi Note is larger, with dimensions of 154 mm high x 78.7 mm wide x 9.45 mm thick. The Nexus has less thickness and dimensions of 137.84 mm high × 69.17 mm wide × 8.59 mm thick and weighs 130 grams. Its plastic back makes it comfortable to touch and makes it easier to grip. We can find it in full black or white on the back and black on the front. As for the Chinese Smartphone, we can say that it has a body made of resistant plastic, black on the front and white on the back.
Screens: the Xiaomi is larger thanks to its 5.5-inch size compared to the 4.95-inch that the Nexus 5 presents. Its resolutions are also different: 1920 x 1080 pixels in the case of the Nexus 5 and 1280 x 720 pixels if we talk about the Chinese terminal. Both screens have IPS technology, so they have a wide viewing angle and very vivid colors. The Google phone also has a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 anti-scratch and shock protection glass.
Cameras: The rear lens of the Xiaomi has 13 megapixels, much more than that of the Nexus, which is 8 megapixels, both with LED flash. There is also quite an inequality between the front camera of one and the other model, being 5 megapixels in the case of the Redmi and 2.1 megapixels if we refer to the Nexus 5, being useful in both cases to make video calls and selfies. The two phones make video recordings in Full HD 1080p quality at 30 fps.
Processors: The Nexus 5 features a quad-core Qualcomm SnapdragonTM 800 SoC running at 2.26 GHz and an Adreno 330 graphics chip. Its RAM memory is 2 GB. The Xiaomi for its part has two models for sale: one with a Mediatek 6592 Octa-core CPU that runs at 1.4 GHz, and another with the same processor but that runs at 1.7 GHz. They have the same graphics chip: Mali-450, but different RAM memory: 1 GB and 2 GB respectively. The Android 4.4 KitKat operating system is present in the Google terminal, while MIUI V5 based on 4.2 Jelly Bean does the same with the Chinese terminal.
Connectivity: both terminals have networks such as 3G , WiFi or Bluetooth , although in the case of the Nexus 5 we can also enjoy LTE / 4G support .
Internal memory: in this aspect the Chinese device loses with its 8 GB of ROM, compared to the two models for sale that the Nexus 5 presents, one of 16 GB and the other of 32 GB. The Note is also capable of expanding its memory using microSD cards up to 32 GB , something that does not happen with the Nexus.
Battery: if we opt for the Nexus we will find a good 2100 mAh battery, although in the case of the Xiaomi we have another that has 3200 mAh, a feature that will give it excellent autonomy.
WE RECOMMEND YOU that the Snapdragon 855 equalizes the performance of the Apple A11Availability and price:
The Xiaomi is available depending on the model for 160 - 170 euros (in the case of 1.4 GHz and 1 GB of RAM) and hovering around 200 euros in the case of 1.7 GHz and 2 GB of RAM. The Nexus 5 is a much more expensive terminal than at the moment we can find it on the pccomponentes website for 339 euros (16 GB model) and for 379 euros (32 GB model), cheaper than on its official website (349 and 399 euros) respectively).
