This time we went out of the ordinary and launched the recommendation of a team with Gigabyte X150 and X170 motherboards, that together with Intel Xeon processors we can have an optimal team to play and also have a high-performance workstation.

We also recommend reading the rest of our guides:

Why choose an X150 or X170 motherboard?

The main idea is none other than to have a team that offers great professional benefits, which allows us both to play and to work in multi-tasks for a much cheaper price than the Z170 platform or Dell computers that cost very high amounts. The key is to choose an X150 (C232) or X170 (C236) motherboard that meets our needs and an Intel Xeon processor corresponding to the i5-6600 or i7-6700 that would be Xeon E3-1200 v5 but a somewhat lower cost, with what in the end we can choose the acquisition of a superior VGA.

On the Gigabyte X150 and X170 boards, they can be used for Professional areas and Gaming and for this the models with the surname 'PRO' and models with surnames like 'EXTREME' respectively are launched.

As always, all the components are 100% compatible and are the ideal components for a computer ideally made to work, virtual reality and play at high resolutions: Full HD, 2K and 4K.

PC configuration X150 and X170 Price
Corsair 400C box 108 euros.
Intel Xeon E3-1225 V5 processor 240 euros.
Gigabyte GA-X170-EXTREME ECC motherboards 255 euros.

8GB DDR4 LPX memory on Dual Channel at 2133 MHz.

56 euros.
Gigabyte GTX 1060 Gaming graphics card 317 euros.

Corsair 480 GB LE SSD

133 euros.
Corsair CX550M Power Supply 74 euros.
Cooler Master Hyper 212X heatsink 33 euros.
Total 1216 euros approx (without assembly).

The chosen box is the Corsair 400C that we already analyzed on our website. It is a beautiful box that is also in its Quiet version (400Q) and that will give class, strength and compatibility with high-performance hardware.

The chosen processor is the Intel Xeon E3-1225 V5 with a stock speed of 3300 MHz that goes up with the turbo up to 3700 MHz, 4 cores and threads (HT), 8 MB of cache, 95W of TDP and a graphics card Intel HD P3000. As it is so cool as standard I have chosen a heatsink that will keep it with great temperatures: Cooler Master Hyper 212X and that is also cheap.

The chosen motherboard is the Gigabyte GA-X170-EXTREME ECC that incorporates Ultra Durable components, PCI Express 3.0, a good audio chip and a very stable BIOS. If we put any unlocked i5 or i7 processor (with K) it allows us to overclock. Although this Xeon we can overclock from the BLCK. We give as an alternative to the Gigabyte X150M-PRO ECC that we analyzed at the beginning of the year.

We have also chosen a Corsair LPX DDR4 RAM that we have already analyzed on the web and that offers excellent performance at 2133 such as 3200 MHz (max). I remind you that the board supports DDR4 with ECC certificate, in case you want a 100% Workstation equipment.

The lucky graphics card is the 6GB Gigabyte GTX 1060 Gaming that performs like a fish in water with a Virtual Reality PC configuration and Full HD (1920 * 1080) resolutions at ULTRA. These Gigabytes have very good heatsinks and a PCB that is the best we have tested in this last batch. What do you not need a graphic this powerful? You can save money and opt for the integrated microprocessor.

As an SSD we opted for an excellent 480 GB Corsair LE that has a very good price and its product quality is assured. In addition, its read and write rates are excellent… Optionally, we recommend adding a 1 or 2 TB hard drive.

The total price of this excellent machine is about 1216 euros. Undoubtedly we can opt for a lower quality box, eliminate the graphics card or just use the stock heatsink, but we would not have such a complete equipment like this.
