Cooler Master Cosmos has been one of the most popular PC chassis thanks to its commitment to a design that goes beyond the conventional, now the prestigious manufacturer wants to go one step further with the arrival of its successor, the Cooler Master Cosmos C700P, which It is an update of this prestigious series with the most current elements such as tempered glass and RGB lighting systems.

All this with the large internal space and the excellent cooling that are the trademark of the house. Ready to see our analysis? Here we go!

Cooler Master Cosmos C700P technical characteristics

Unboxing and design

The presentation is spectacular! It arrives in a gigantic box that we recommend you open between two people. On the main face we have a full-color image of the chassis, while in the rear all its novelties and technical characteristics.

The Cooler Master Cosmos C700P inherits the entire caste of the series are its four handles, two of which are located at the bottom and the other two at the top, no one will doubt that this is a Cosmos . These handles will be of great help when moving the chassis, since with a weight of 26 Kg all help will be well received.

One of the characteristics of this Cooler Master Cosmos C700P is its enormous size of 639 x 306 x 651 mm, which is combined with the use of the best materials such as SECC steel to give the impressive weight it has.

Therefore, we are in front of a PC chassis designed to accommodate the most powerful and largest components on the market while maintaining excellent cooling and avoiding overheating that can occur in tight spaces.

He inherited the design of the first Cosmos model that came onto the market 9 years ago, his bet was so groundbreaking at that moment that the passage of time did not weigh him down at all. The curved edges are maintained, Cooler Master has made a great effort and has developed a double curved tempered glass panel that fully respects the hallmark of the Cosmos family, we did not expect less. Who was going to say 9 years ago that double curvatures would be the fashion one day.

The glass panel is tinted to give a darker appearance that helps maintain the uniformity of the whole. Of course the other steel panel also has double curvature.

In the upper area of the front, the entire panel of ports and buttons has been installed, this time we are very well served with four USB 3.0 ports, a USB 3.1 Type-C, the audio and micro connectors, a fan controller and the buttons for power on, reset and control of RGB lighting. The RGB lighting is integrated under the four handles to give them greater prominence, additionally it has a zone in the upper front so that we have a total of five RGB LED zones.

Lighting control is compatible with motherboards from leading manufacturers and their Asus Aura Sync, MSI Mystic Light, Gigabyte RGB Fusion and others. In this way we can manage the lighting from the motherboard or the tower panel controller.

The entire design of Cooler Master Cosmos C700P has been thought to avoid the use of tools so that access to the different parts of the box such as the interior, the dust filters and the different ports is possible only with your hands.

Detail of its two long legs and the anti-slip rubber bands.

Finally we show you the back of the box. We come across the hole for the power supply, 8 expansion slots, a 140mm fan and the area to install the rear connections of the motherboard with its metal plate.

Interior and assembly

We make a turn in our review and we will start by talking about the side that looks the least. Opening the door just by pushing it out seems super comfortable for a high-end assembly.

The organization and quality of all components is 10 and we have plenty of room to manage both cables and internal components. Very good work Cooler Master!

As soon as the tempered glass panel is removed to access the interior of the chassis, we are struck by the two large metal panels that are responsible for covering the area of the power supply and the area of hard drives, front fans and 5-bays., 25. These panels help us achieve a very clean assembly in which only what we want will be seen will be hidden by hiding almost all of the cables.

These panels can be removed if we wish, although in this case we will have to use a screwdriver. Once the panels have been removed, we see an elevated bay to be able to place the power supply in a simple way and the area of the bays where a 5.25 bay and two 3.5 / 2.5 ” bays are included. It is striking that despite being such a large tower and with a high price only two bays for hard drives are included, we can place up to nine although they are sold separately, a flip to Cooler Master in this regard.

The area of the motherboard can be rotated in a way that allows us to place it in various positions and we can make the outputs of the ports point to different places. We believe that the most logical is a conventional system with the ports towards the rear. It is compatible with E-ATX, ATX, Micro ATX and Mini-ITX motherboards and, of course, we have a lot of space so installation is very simple. As we can see, we have the option to install up to 8 expansion slots, although we miss that it allows us to connect the graphics card vertically, as in the Cooler Master

Regarding cooling, the Cooler Master Cosmos C700P supports multiple 120mm or 140mm fans at the user's choice, in total we can place three in the front, two in the lower area and one in the rear. Two front and one rear are included as standard, all of them 140 mm and with a maximum speed of 1200 RPM. In the upper area we can install a 360 mm or more radiator if we remove the 5.25 bay. Something striking is that these rails allow the fans to be screwed in several different positions.

What we did not like is that it does not incorporate an RGB fan but a controller does . If we are light lovers, we will have to go through the box to buy RGB fans of the Cooler Master brand.

Another negative detail is that Cooler Master has not added screws with an area to unscrew and screw by hand into the expansion ports so that a screwdriver is needed once again, the problem is that there is little space between the hinges and the screws to make force and also, the screws come too tight so it is not difficult that we end up damaging the star connector area. Details like this have to be very careful in a top-of-the-range chassis and more than used series with such prestige.

Regarding the assembly, the truth, that everything was quite simple. It is more expensive to have to move it and make adjustments in the least possible movement than the installation itself. In our case we have used a Nvidia GTX 1080 Ti, 16GB of DDR4 RAM, a Gigabyte X370 motherboard and an AMD Ryzen 7 1700 processor with a stock color of the 7 series. The result is very, very good.

We especially liked the standard lighting of the box. We can quickly control it from the panel or from the Gigabyte software itself. What a treat!

Final words and conclusion about Cooler Master Cosmos C700P

The Cooler Master Cosmos C700P is the company's flagship case. A spectacular design, top quality components, black tinted curved tempered glass, easy access to both sides of the case, allows us to change the position of the motherboard and is ideal for high-end components.

We have assembled a high-end team and the temperatures have been fantastic. Although if you are one of those users looking for a compact box or want a very mobile chassis, the Cosmos C700P is not your perfect companion. Although if you are looking for 'the best of the best', you want to show off your box on your desk (or on the floor, although it would be a shame) and you are not going to move it. the Cosmos C700P is highly, highly recommended.

We recommend you read the best PC cases on the market

The price of the box is 299 euros in the main online stores. Honestly, we expected much more expensive… about +50 euros. If your budget is high and you want to treat yourself, it is a 100% recommended purchase.
