Corsair Graphite 780T: Unboxing and exterior

Corsair opts for a large, eco-friendly box. On the cover we find a silkscreen of the tower and some of the most important features of the tower.

Inside we find two pieces of polystyrene with enough thickness, a fabric that wraps around the tower and an instruction manual.

As you have seen the tower they have sent us is in its white version, there are two other versions in black and yellow. The size in both is the same (Full-Tower): measures 699 x 332 x 670 mm (Length x Width x Height) and a weight of 11.3 kg.

In the upper area of ​​the front we find two 5.25 ″ bays to install any optical drive, liquid cooling tank or any type of removable storage (rack). It includes a bee panel (Metal mesh) that helps introduce fresh air and see the fantastic white LED fans in action.

As you can see in interior images we can remove the filter without difficulty and thus see the two 140 mm led fans models AF140L.

The right side is completely smooth except for the handle to remove the cover - this system does not need any type of tool. The left side is the window that allows us to see the entire interior of the box. Both sides feature a convex contour that provides a little extra space for routing the cabling.

Now we climb a little over the box and we can see the control panel of the tower. Which is most complete and with the best aesthetics has passed through our hands, incorporates:

Filter that protects the upper ventilation area.

If we look more at the upper area we find another panel with a removable filter that protects the upper ventilation area. This is made up of three 120 and 140 mm fan holes and the possibility of installing a 240/280 or 360 mm radiator. I also liked that it includes four silenblocks to prevent fan vibrations from taking its toll on the chassis.

At the base of the tower we find two plastic legs that allow an excellent grip on any surface and two filters that cover the entire floor preventing the entry of dust and improving cooling.

The interior is completely painted in black, which gives it an elegant touch and is accompanied by an excellent presentation. The Corsair 780T is compatible with motherboards with M-ATX, ATX, XL-ATX and the special E-ATX format , so it has up to 9 available slots available.

Regarding refrigeration, it has:

• Two 140mm inlet LED fans and one 140mm exhaust fan for increased airflow: Front fans: 3 x 120, 2 x 140mm, Top fans: 3 x 120, 2 x 140mm, Bottom fans (without bracket) HDD): 2 x 120 mm Rear fans: 1 x 140/120 mm.

It allows us to install any power supply on the market, as a detail it incorporates four rubbers to avoid vibrations. The box allows a perfect organization of the wiring, as you can see the guides are of good quality and are full of area to pass the cables.

To power the led system it has a SATA power connection socket and it includes all the cables for the control panel, USB 3.0 and USB 2.0.

As we expected for the 5.25 ″ and 3.5 ″ units we do not need to install, use any type of tools for their installation. Each adapter has a fast mechanism that dampens any vibration. The 2.5 ″ unit has three adapters on the back of detachable hard drive cabs.

In total we can install 2 units of 5.25 ″, 3 units 2.5 ″ with quick-release mechanism and 6 units of 3.5 / 2.5 ″.

The hardware is very complete and each tab is labeled in the manual to quickly identify the screws on the motherboard, fans, large fans, etc…

To assemble I have opted for the new Intel Z170 platform. As you can see, it fits perfectly a Noctua NH-D15, a high-end graphics card, a dedicated sound card, a 1000w power supply and wired dfel management is perfect.

What heatsink, graphics card, or power supply can I install? We detail it for you:

• Maximum CPU heatsink height: 20 cm. Maximum GPU length: 35.5 cm. Maximum PSU length: 26 cm.

To conclude our experience, confirm that the fan speed control is quite effective and it is not necessary to purchase an extra rehobus. The buttons and aesthetics in person earn much more than in photos.

Final words and conclusion

The Corsair Graphite 780T is a complete tower with a design very pleasing to the eye and with removable windows without the need for tools, we simply have to use its fixing mechanism. It is aimed at assembling high-end equipment with large heatsinks, graphics cards, liquid cooling and great cable routing.

The equipment was assembled very quickly and we had no problems in the process. In cooling we were able to verify that both the graphics card and the processor maintained excellent temperatures, which allowed us to perform a good overclock without damaging the air flow.

To this day I do not find any inconvenience, since it is a box for all kinds of uses and that I particularly love. Its store price ranges from 190 to 200 euros, but a box is a component that usually lasts several generations of computer and its outlay is worth it.
