Scientists say our planet is getting hotter, and Corsair seems to like learning about the latest science. The prestigious manufacturer has launched a new AIO Corsair H100i RGB Platinum liquid cooling kit to improve the operating temperature of our processor, while adding the most elegant touch of RGB light.
This system has a 280 mm surface, two 140 mm fans and a very low noise. If you want to know more about this excellent heatsink, don't miss our review in Spanish.
As always, we are grateful to Corsair for the trust placed in the transfer of the H110i to us for analysis.
Corsair H100i RGB Platinum technical characteristics
Unboxing and design
In the presentation of this Corsair H100i RGB Platinum we do not see anything out of the ordinary, as the heatsink comes in a medium-sized cardboard box, made of high-quality cardboard, and a premium print based on the manufacturer's corporate colors. At the top we see a photo of the product, as well as its main characteristics.
The manufacturer has used to detail all the sockets with which the heatsink is compatible. The rest of the surface of the box has been used to detail its characteristics and specifications in several languages, including Spanish so that no one misses a single detail.
Once we open the box, the first thing we see is how well protected everything is, wrapped in plastic bags and perfectly accommodated in a piece of cardboard so that it does not move during transport. In total we find the following bundle:
- Corsair H100i RGB Platinum Mounting Kit for all modern CPUs Two ML140 Pro 140mm Fans USB cable for integration with Corsair Link Screws for mounting fan and radiator Quick Start Guide
The radiator is made with a gray frame that includes the brand's logo and is quite attractive. The finish is made of very high quality rubber, which minimizes the evaporation of the refrigerant fluid that circulates inside.
Zero evaporation is impossible to achieve, but this design maximizes durability. The most important part of the radiator is made up of a multitude of aluminum fins that have the function of increasing the heat exchange surface to improve the heat dissipation capacity, thanks to which our processor will work much cooler with this kit.
From the radiator the two hoses that connect it to the CPU block, these have a suitable length and flexibility to facilitate assembly. The hoses are also rubberized, once again to minimize evaporation as much as possible.
As for the water block, it is attached to the pump as usual in this type of solution, which seeks to optimize space to the maximum. Most of the body is built in black, although we see a bezel on the top that contains the brand's logo, with RGB diodes included. It is a system that we can configure in 16.8 million colors and a multitude of light effects. We leave you some photos so you can see how the lighting is:
The bottom of the block is made of high-quality electrolytic copper to maximize heat transfer from the processor to the coolant. Inside there is an advanced micro-channel design to maximize the contact of copper with the fluid that will transport heat. This block comes with a thermal plate optimized low noise pump and cold plate design for high performance and quiet cooling.
We can see that it comes with pre-applied thermal paste to facilitate assembly as much as possible, however, the most demanding users will prefer to clean it and apply its trusted thermal compound. Although it has already been shown on several occasions that the thermal paste to apply Corsair is the best on the market.
The CPU block is powered by a SATA connector that gives it the power it needs to function, it also includes a connector that connects to the motherboard to configure all the performance and lighting parameters from iCUE.
Corsair has not neglected aesthetics, so they include an advanced 16-diode RGB LED lighting system, which can be configured using iCUE software in a very simple way.
The Corsair H100i RGB Platinum comes with two 140mm ML140 Pro PWM fans that are capable of speeds up to 2400 RPM, generating an airflow of 75 CFM, a loudness of 37 dBa, and a static pressure of 4.2mm-H2O. These fans include no less than 9 blades with a very elaborate design to achieve maximum efficiency when it comes to moving the air. These fans feature ZeroRPM technology, which keeps them powered down in low CPU load scenarios. The two fans are mounted on the radiator, which reaches dimensions of 276 mm x 120 mm x 27 mm.
LGA 1151 socket installation
For our tests we are going to use the most popular platform on the market, the Intel LGA 1151 with a Z390 motherboard with a Core i9 9900k processor from the Coffee Lake Refresh family. The first thing is to place the backplate along the back area, remaining as in the previous image.
Next, we place the four screws and clean the processor with alcohol (if it was used previously).
We place the processor block on top of the socket, remember that it already has thermal paste applied, and we fix it with the screws that incorporate us as standard. We just need to connect the SATA power to our power supply, the 4-pin connector to the motherboard, the internal USB connector of the block to the motherboard and connect the fans. Prepared for war!

To test the actual performance of the heatsink we are going to stress with the powerful Intel Core i9-9900K at stock speed. As usual, our tests consist of 72 uninterrupted hours of work in stock values, since being a ten-core processor and with high frequencies, temperatures can be high.
In this way, we can observe the highest temperature peaks and the average that the heatsink reaches. We must bear in mind that when playing or using other types of software, the temperature will drop dramatically between 7 to 12ºC.
How are we going to measure the processor temperature? For this test we will use the internal sensors of the processor under the supervision of the HWiNFO64 application in its latest version. We believe it is one of the best monitoring software that exists today. Without further delay, we leave you the results obtained:
Model | Idle | Full | Peak |
Corsair H100i RGB Platinum in stock | 27 ºC | 61 ºC | 73 ºC |
ICUE software
We have an old acquaintance among us, iCUE software allows us to customize and monitor all Corsair components at the click of a button. On the main screen we see the processor temperature (although we can add more system parameters), the configuration of the liquid cooling pump and the fans.
We can also configure the lighting in maximum detail. The block has 16 fully customizable LEDs with a variety of effects, just like the two built-in fans. Regarding performance we can choose between the following profiles:
- Relaxed Balanced Extreme Zero RPM (100% passive)
As we can see it is a very complete software that with a while of customization, we can have all the equipment monitored in detail while we work or play. What a great application!
Final words and conclusion about Corsair H100i RGB Platinum
The Corsair H100i RGB Platinum is one of the best liquid coolers on the market that we have tested this year. It has a 240mm radiator, two quality fans, a very quiet pump, two improved pipes (robust and that allows more liquid), highly customizable lighting and 10 software.
We are surprised by the good temperatures we have had with the i9-9900k processor both at idle and at maximum performance. It has had a maximum peak of 73 ºC in stock, but it is more than ready to withstand the overclocking of the 8 cores of the i9. We have put the 5 GHz processor without disheveled and the temperatures have been better, having it in offset?
Currently we can find it in the main online stores for 123 euros. We were expecting something more expensive and we were pleasantly surprised. Without a doubt a 100% recommended purchase. What do you think of the Corsair H100i RGB Platinum?
