We set sail for the world of wireless headphones with the Corsair HS70 Pro Wireless. This model is launched as part of Corsair's highest gaming range, both in sound and materials. Do you want to know more? Come with me.
The American Corsair is not a nautical company, but one of the biggest leaders in the world of gaming peripherals. From keyboards and mice to towers and headphones. Nothing escapes them!
Unboxing Corsair HS70 Pro Wireless
Corsair's usual packaging consists of a black and yellow satin cardboard box. On its cover we have the photograph of the product highlighted with reflective resin. In the upper area we find the company logo and its compatibility for PC and Play Station 4. On the other hand, we can read the name of the model as well as its main function: wireless gaming headphones with 7.1 surround sound. Finally there are the Discord Quality Certificate and the availability of Corsair iCUE software.
On both sides of the box we find both the model name and the logo, as well as the Never Miss a Beat brand slogan.
For its part, on the back is where more detailed information can be found, including the technical specifications and its most outstanding details:
- Adjustable memory foam ear pads Custom- fit 50mm neodymium transducers Wireless, 2.4GHz low latency and up to 16h battery Removable unidirectional microphone with active noise cancellation. Immersive 7.1 surround sound on PC.
Once we removed the box we found a plastic mold that serves as a structure to contain both the Corsair HS70 Pro Wireless and the other components.

Corsair HS70 Pro Wireless Headphone Design
The supraural band
The upper or plush headband of the headphones is made of plastic with a matte black finish on its outer face, while the name of Corsair is engraved in bas-relief with a shiny finish.
Next, at both ends we have extenders that allow a total of nine possible positions. We can read both their numbers and markings very subtly on the black metal. On the inside, for its part, it is possible to find the indicators L and R to indicate the side to which each handset corresponds. On the left it is also possible to find some brands such as the European Quality Certificate or other indications on recycling.
The inner lining of the supraural arch is made of memory foam mounted by pattern sewn with black thread. This has a very elegant cream color and very good quality leatherette touch.
The headphones
The metal extenders that start from the headband are attached to the headphones with two hinges. These allow vertical mobility of approximately 45º, although they do not have horizontal rotation.
The finish of the outer area is plastic with a matte finish as in the supraural band, while in its center, the outer area of the transducers is bordered with the same cream-colored finish.
Next we have a metal mesh structure in the center of which is the Corsair logo with a slightly fluted aluminum finish.
In the lower area of the headphones we have various drivers. In the left earphone we find a volume regulator, switch to cancel the microphone, LED light and nano USB connector.
On the right, on the other hand, we only have the on / off button of the headphones accompanied by a light gray screen printed ON / OFF icon.
Moving inside, the padding of the pads is also black and very fluffy, making them pleasant to the touch. This foam rubber is not removable and is very well attached to the internal structure.
The microphone
The removable microphone is another of the small details that we can appreciate in the Corsair HS70 Pro Wireless. The structure of the barilla is lined with a metal spiral allowing a lot of flexibility and keeping the position in which we have decided to fix it.
The connection to the headphones is made through a 3.5 jack reinforced on the outside with a solid black piece of PVC.
The end of the microphone instead is a small and thin piece, with a matte black finish on the outside and shiny on its inside, where we have three slots on the sensor.
This microphone has the advantage of being unidirectional, since it only has receivers on its internal face. This allows you to not easily pick up sounds that do not immediately come from us.
We also have the possibility of placing a sponge to attenuate the ambient noise or our own breathing.
USB receiver
The USB receiver for PC and PS4 has the format of a conventional pendrive. It is made with a matte black plastic finish, on one of its faces we have the Corsair logo stamped in gray and on the opposite side there is information about certificates and serial numbers.
The connection is USB type A, with 2.4 GHz band frequency.
The wire
The cable included in the box is covered in black rubber and has a total length of 160 mm.
At both ends we find the USB ports reinforced with a section of plastic also black. Something to clarify and can lead to confusion is that this connection is not enough to use the headphones, but it is necessary to plug the USB receiver into our computer or Play Station 4.
Using the Corsair HS70 Pro Wireless headphones
Once we connect the USB receiver to the computer and turn on the headphones, the LED that sings its activity will light up. Probably the first time you connect them, the LED is orange, indicating that the battery is below 20%.
Our recommendation is that before you start charging until the LED is solid green. The sound that we can receive from input, even without having downloaded and installed the software is stereo. The first thing we have been able to check is the efficiency of its 50mm neodymium transducers. They generate a crisp and powerful sound, reaching a fairly high maximum volume with the sound regulator.
We can perceive some background noise when we are hearing very low sounds since it is generated with the headphones connection itself, although it is very discreet and disappears from an intermediate volume.
The default balance between bass, mid and treble is quite successful, generating a very satisfactory and stable sound perception.
We have used these headphones both for listening to music, watching movies and playing a few games. For those concerned with latency, we are happy to say that we have not had the slightest delay.
Physically they are headphones of a certain weight, with 362g. This gives it a good presence without making them heavy. The ear pavilion is generous, so even the largest ears should have enough room so as not to feel that imprisonment typical of less generous headphones in this regard. The flexibility and softness of the pads reinforce this impression since they are very comfortable and added to the default minimum width of the supraural band only generate a slight pressure to fix them in a stable position.
The very thickness of the padding in these pads in itself generates a partial passive cancellation, attenuating the sounds of the environment.
The microphone on the other hand has a very practical length and those who are not very fond of having a horn occupying their peripheral vision will be in luck, since it has a very discreet and functional structure with great flexibility.
Regarding its autonomy, the 16 hours of maximum use go a long way. Since we first charged it 100% we haven't had to recharge it for many days and really the total lack of cable restriction is a big plus. On the other hand, you will prolong the longevity of the headphones if you do not use them while the battery is in the process of charging.
software
It is time to talk about software and 7.1 sound. To do this we must download the Corsair iCUE from its official website. We have talked about this program and its benefits in other articles of the brand, so some of you will be familiar with it.
At iCUE we have the possibility to choose between stereo and 7.1 sound, as well as various sound modes:
- Pure Direct: it is the default mode, all levels are quite balanced. FPS: Mode optimized for first person shooter games. Clear Chat: Optimizes microphone clarity and prioritizes human voices over other effects. Bass Boost - Boosts bass, especially recommended for Movie Theater music - Available with 7.1 sound, optimizes surround sound effect.
Apart from this we can create our own sound profiles by calibrating the effects and set the automatic shutdown after the time we want. Also in the software we can check the actual percentage of battery charge.

Final words and conclusions about Corsair HS70 Pro Wireless
We must admit that at first we were somewhat reluctant with the HS70 Pro. Not because we are from Corsair, which is a brand known for the quality of its products, but because of our natural skepticism regarding wireless devices. We were afraid that the sound was insufficient or the possibility of interference or latency, so our surprise has been maximum when we have been testing them for days without incident.
The Corsair HS70 Pro Wireles turn off by themselves if there is no sound activity in the computer for more than a minute (or the time we calibrate in the software), and the LED tells us about the state of charge. They are comfortable, with an intense and very clear sound that for PC users has the advantage of modifying their frequencies in the iCUE software.
Something that on the other hand does not convince us is the fact that although we have the headphones off, if the USB receiver is connected to the computer this audio output is probably in front of our usual speakers, so we must disconnect it every time we do not we need. However, this also happens with wired headphones, so we do not consider it a significant defect.
We recommend reading: Best headphones on the market.
In the aesthetic aspect, what can attract the attention of many is that they have a discreet and modern finish, no striking shapes or details that immediately convey the message of "I am a gaming item". The color and pattern sewn on the internal lining of the supraural band gives it a great personality and is partly responsible for the perception at a glance of facing an expensive but quality product.
The Corsair HS70 Pro Wireless are launched with a starting price of € 99.99. We have found them one of the best high-end wireless gaming headphones both in terms of sound and design, being right at the limit of € 100.
From Professional Review we can only tell you that if you are looking for wireless headphones with quality sound and good finishes without falling into excess, the Corsair HS70 Pro Wireles are a great candidate to consider.
