Corsair Neutron XT
Corsair gives us a gala presentation with a black box with a very compact size. On its cover we find an image of the SSD, the name, specific capacity and all the most relevant characteristics of the disc. While on the back we have all the conditions and we can see the serial number that will help us activate the warranty. The bundle consists of the Corsair Neutron XT 240GB Disc, small warranty booklet and an adapter with 3M adhesive.
Its design stands out for the combination of black color and red frame. Its dimensions are normal for a 2.5-inch disk with 7 mm thickness, SATA III connectivity and a weight of 55 grams.
We are going to enter the technical specifications of this model; It incorporates Toshiba NAND Toshiba A19nm MLC memory with 64Gbit in the 240 and 480 GB models, while in the 960GB model it has 128Gbit which will offer greater performance. Among its novelties we find a quad-core Phison PS3110-S10 controller for a reliably high bandwidth. We bring all this technology together and offer us sequential read and write rates of 560 MB / s and 540 MB / s respectively on all models alike.
Finally I would like to emphasize two very important points of security:
- Data Path Protection: The entire data path within the SSD controller, from the host to the NAND gates, is fully protected against corruption from damage. This is vital for reliable performance under various storage loads. Improved error correction: The science of fast and secure data storage includes SmartECC and SmartRefresh technologies for state-of-the-art data retention and error correction.

Final words and conclusion
Although the competition in the SSD sector is tough, Corsair has done a great job and offers a disk specially designed for professional users and high level players. As it stands out for a new quad-core controller, Toshiba 19nm memory and excellent read and write rates for the SATA III connection.
Regarding performance, we can confirm that the transfer rates obtained are extremely high, which is ideal for capturing uncompressed FullHD and professional 4K video in real time, so Neutron XT is the ideal extension for your professional video device that records directly to SSD drives. Or for a professional gamer it will help improve performance when running at higher resolutions and with high detailed settings.
Finally I would like to highlight the protection against power failures thanks to SmartFlush and GuaranteedFlush technologies that help protect data in the event of a sudden power failure and compatibility with the “Corsair Toolbox” tools. It is currently in the online store for a price of approximately 160 euros for the 240 GB version and 300 euros for the 480 GB version.
