Cryorig H7 Quad Lumi is a new version of the original Cryorig H7 that arrives to slightly improve its features while including an advanced RGB lighting system to keep up to date with aesthetics. The manufacturer has added a fourth copper heatpipe to improve heat transfer over the original H7.

Do you want to know more about this heatsink? Do not worry, we will discover all its secrets in our analysis in Spanish. Let's start!

We thank Cryorig for the trust placed in ceding the product to us for analysis.

Cryorig H7 Quad Lumi technical characteristics

Unboxing and design

Cryorig H7 Quad Lumi is presented in a cardboard box that shows its design with high-quality, full-color printing, the manufacturer has also taken advantage of putting all the most important features and specifications on the various sides of the box.

Once we open the box we find the heatsink perfectly protected and accompanied by all the accessories necessary for mounting on Intel and AMD platforms. The bundle is made up of:

  • Cryorig H7 Quad Lumi Heatsink Instruction Manual + Quick Guide Thermal Paste Mounting kit for Intel and AMD processors Retaining clips for a second fan.

Cryorig H7 Quad Lumi is a heatsink that bets on a traditional tower design, this has proven to be one of the most efficient if not the most, which is why almost all heatsinks on the market are the same in this regard. This unit reaches dimensions of 145 x 123 x 95 mm so it will fit in most of the chassis on the market, since a height of 145 mm is not considered high today.

This heatsink is formed by a dense radiator of 40 aluminum fins, these have the function of increasing the surface of heat exchange with air to achieve maximum cooling capacity. Cryorig uses a special patented design that makes the most of these fins.

On the top of the radiator there is a black plastic cover, this includes the brand logo that forms the RGB LED lighting system as we will see later.

Going through the radiator we see four 6mm nickel-plated copper heatpipes, this is in charge of absorbing the heat generated by the processor and transmitting it to the radiator for its elimination.

Heatpipes are attached to a nickel-plated copper base, this material is one of the best conductors of heat, which is why all the most important heatsinks on the market use it.

Nickel plated finish protects copper from corrosion to keep it looking like new.

The set is completed with a Cryorig QF120 LED fan with dimensions of 120 x 120 x 25.4 mm. This fan has PWM functionality, allowing it to regulate its rotational speed between 330 and 1600 RPM automatically depending on the processor temperature. The design of its blades is capable of generating a maximum airflow of 49 CFM with a loudness of only 25 dB at full power.

This fan includes white LED lighting, it is the heatsink that includes RGB. To manage RGB LED lighting, a 4-pin connector (internal USB) has been included for the motherboard and a 4-pin PWM connector for fan power.

LGA 2066 socket installation

Installing the Cryorig H7 Quad Lumi on an LGA2066 motherboard is really simple, first of all, we must put the four screws that fit the threads of the socket (in the corners). Being in this way:

The next step is to put the two metal supports and fix them with the four hand screws provided by the manufacturer.

Now we can put the thermal paste on the processor (in our case three small lines), adjust the heatsink on top and tighten the two screws on the sides so that the heatsink is firmly fixed.

We have two cables to connect. The classic 4-pin connector for the fan (PWM) and USB 2.0 to access the CAM application. With this we can control the entire lighting system of our new heatsink.

We leave you how the final assembly would look on one of our motherboards from the test bench.

As you can see we will not have any problem when installing memories of any profile and it does not collide with the first PCI Express connector. It is a heatsink that is very well collected, but perhaps breaks the aesthetic having to connect an internal USB cable. The key is to have a good box and pass it behind, in this way we will have a clean and especially beautiful configuration.

To test the actual performance of the heatsink we are going to stress with the powerful Intel Core i9-7900X at stock speed. As usual, our tests consist of 72 uninterrupted hours of work in stock values, since being a ten-core processor and with high frequencies, temperatures can be high.

In this way, we can observe the highest temperature peaks and the average that the heatsink reaches. We must bear in mind that when playing or using other types of software, the temperature will drop dramatically between 7 to 12ºC.

How are we going to measure the processor temperature? For this test we will use the internal sensors of the processor under the supervision of the HWiNFO64 application in its latest version. We believe it is one of the best monitoring software that exists today. Without further delay, we leave you the results obtained:

Final words and conclusion about Cryorig H7 Quad Lumi

The Cryorig H7 Quad Lumi is renewed with a little facelift! Its intention is to captivate those users who want to assemble a gaming equipment, but that aesthetics with an RGB LED system is a way of life. As we have already explained, it is a moderate size heatsink that is compatible with most Intel and AMD platforms.

In our tests we have been able to verify that its performance is really good. Since we have obtained 23 ºC in room temperature, 64 ºC from medium to maximum performance and some peak at 69 ºC before the all-powerful i9-7900X. Really fantastic! Do you need more power? Includes two clips to connect a second fan.

We recommend reading our guide on the best heatsinks on the market

Cryorig is made compatible with the CAM application designed by NZXT. A fantastic idea to continue offering a cheap heatsink avoiding making it more expensive when creating your own application. As always, CAM is very intuitive and allows us to customize, monitor and overclock with several clicks.

Its price in online stores ranges from approximately 52 euros. We believe that it is a very interesting option and that it offers a different aesthetic than the one seen in the brand itself. Good evolution!
