Nvidia has prepared special versions of the GeForce GTX 1080 and GTX 1060 for cryptocurrency mining, these cards are based on the video game versions but include some adjustments to improve mining efficiency and reduce manufacturing costs in order to offer a cheaper product.

A big difference is that these mining cards have a guarantee of only 90 days, they also do not include any video output so it will be impossible to use them like a conventional card. The special GeForce GTX 1080 for mining offers 30% more performance per watt compared to the normal GeForce GTX 1060 while the special version of the latter improves by 10% compared to the normal version of the card.

The special version of the GeForce GTX 1080 for mining reaches a base speed of 1, 607 MHz while the turbo frequency reaches 1, 733 MHz, while the 8 GB of GDDR5 memory works at 10 Gbps with a 256-bit interface. The card is powered by an 8-pin connector and has a TDP of 180W, its sale price is $ 350, making it much cheaper than the normal version of this same card that has an official price of $ 500. Its mining performance reaches 60 MH / s.

On the other hand, we have the special version of the GeForce GTX 1060 that reaches core frequencies of 1, 506 MHz and 1, 708 MHz, while the 6 GB of GDDR5 memory works at 8 Gbps with a 192-bit interface. It has a 120W TDP so it only has a 6-pin connector. Its official sale price is $ 200.
