Fake Bitcoin wallets on the Play Store
These applications have been called "PickBitPocket" by the researchers. Applications that work in this way give the feeling of being a real wallet. But, it is intended to trick users into providing the Bitcoin address to the attacker and not the seller. Since if someone sells and allows payment with the currency, an address is provided to the buyer so that he can make the payment. But, this time it is the attackers who provide a fraudulent address.
It is a total of three applications that have been detected. In addition, we are fortunate to know their names and some details about them. These are the three fraudulent applications:
- Bitcoin Mining: Application that had been downloaded about 5, 000 times. Developed by Pyramix Studio, it has been accused of having attempted to steal passwords. Blockchain Bitcoin Wallet - Fingerprint: Its downloads are between 5, 000 and 10, 000, so it has been quite popular. Fast Bitcoin Wallet: The number of downloads is not known about this application, although it is known that it was dedicated to stealing users' credentials.
So if any of you have downloaded any of these applications, it is best to remove it as soon as possible.
