Cascade lake cpu detected
Table of contents:
Following the launch of the Skylake-X HEDT processors six months ago, we are hearing rumors that the company may unveil the Cascade Lake-X series at Computex 2019. The latest leak comes from SiSoft Sandra's database revealing a piece of 10 cores and 20 threads of silicon 'Glacier Falls'.
Cascade Lake-X 10-core 20-wire appears in SiSoft Sandra's database
The interesting part here is that the listing specifies both the Cascade Lake-X and Skylake-X architecture using the Glacier Lake chipset. There is a possibility that the new HEDT chips will be compatible with existing Skylake-X chipsets to increase adoption. However, the previous leaks mention the B365 and H310C chipsets corresponding to Glacier Lake. So far, there is no information on the difference between these two and the B360 and H310, so we cannot confirm this 100%.
Performance results
Looking at the results of SiSot Sandra, the 10-core chip 'Glacier Falls' scores 1420.55 megapixels per second and 100 points, which is 30% more than the 16 Skylake-X processors for servers that currently form the core of the HEDT range. Cascade Lake-X is quite similar to its predecessor with only a few enhancements, such as hardware-based side channel mitigation, Intel DL Boost with 11x inference acceleration, and support for Optane DC DIMMs. Therefore, most of the performance gains can be attributed to the higher clock speeds, which are considerably higher at, with a base of 2.4 GHz, which can reach 4.6 GHz in a single core. and 4 GHz on all cores.

In terms of TDP, the Cascade Lake-X seems a bit lacking with a 200W TDP, so it consumes much more than a 10-core Skylake-X. Again, this could be an early sample and not the final iteration of the processor, so this could change.
