Detroit: Become Human was one of the great exclusive PlayStation 4 games until recently, as Quantic Dream, the developer of the game, announced this title for the PC platform. The creative studio itself is now announcing what the requirements are to be able to play it on our computer.

Detroit: Become Human will use the Vulkan API in its PC version

Detroit: Become Human, from Quantic Dreams, will use the Vulkan API in its PC version, this does not seem to be a surprise. It is known that PlayStation 4 does not have DirectX as the XBOX console, and its custom API, geared towards an AMD-based solution, would undoubtedly borrow some of the Vulkan programming. This could mean that the game works better on those AMD graphics cards. Historically, Vulkan-based games have always performed better on AMD than NVIDIA.

Minimum and recommended requirements

Going deep into PC gaming requirements, an NVIDIA GTX 660 graphics card is the minimum graphics requirement, along with an i5-2400 and 4GB of system RAM. The recommended specs, however, list an i7-2700K, about 12GB of RAM, and an NVIDIA GTX 1080 graphics card.

If we had to analyze these requirements, we see a great disparity between the minimum and the recommended requirements of the system, especially with regard to RAM and the graphics card, which leads us to ask ourselves what type of adjustments can be customized in the game.

Recall that Detroit: Become Human runs at 2160p @ 30 FPS on the PS4 Pro, with volumetric lighting rendered at a resolution of 235x135x64. In order to do this, PlayStation 4 Pro has 4.2 TFLOPs of computing power, slightly less than the 4.9 TFLOPs that the RX 470 has.
