Directx 12 will arrive with windows 10
The long-awaited new API DirectX 12 intended to succeed the already veteran DirectX 11 will come with the launch of the new version of Microsoft's operating system, Windows 10.
The new DirectX 12 will be part of Windows 10 so it is likely that it will not reach Windows 7 or Windows 8 / 8.1. So until the launch of Windows 10 we will have to settle for DirectX 11 and Mantle, not to mention OpenGL.
