It is still unclear if the Raytracing support would use global lighting, like Metro: Exodus, or just be there for reflections and shadows like most games seem to be using, it's something that is not known at the moment. However, if we look back and consider the changes in graphics technologies under the new iD Tech 7 engine, DOOM Eternal really seems to be one of the most attractive games, at least on the PC platform.
As Marty Stratton said, “RTX makes it look, you know, amazing. There are great benefits, but it doesn't necessarily expand our audience or the way something like Stadia does it, but absolutely people can expect DOOM Eternal and id Tech 7 to support Raytracing. Absolutely. We love that, the team loves it and I think we will do better than anyone."
DOOM Eternal will be released in November for PC platforms and video game consoles. That is, XBOX One, PlayStation 4, and on PC it will be released in the Steam and Bethesda stores.
