Unboxing and design

The ECS Z270 Lightsaber It comes presented in a robust gilded box and it already predicts that we are dealing with a high-end product. In the lower right corner we have the main official certifications that this plate incorporates.

The ECS Z270 Lightsaber is made from a very good quality PCB and combines its color scheme very well with black and gold. The board is built with an ATX form factor and reaches dimensions of 30.5 cm x 24.4 cm so there is no surprise in this regard.

ECS has included a high quality black heatsink to cool both the power supply phases (VRM) and the chipset. Although possibly the aesthetics is not one of the best we have seen but it is super effective.

It has a total of 4 non-ECC DDR4 RAM memory sockets compatible with a total of 64 GB with speed from 2133 MHz to 3200 MHz with overclocking. As expected, it has Intel XMP technology to easily reach the processor frequency.

Near the ATX connections we find the control panel next to a Debug LED. In addition to a button to quickly overclock from the same board.

The ECS Z270 Lightsaber offers us three PCIe 3.0 to x16 sockets so we will have no trouble configuring a CrossFireX system. On the storage connections it incorporates a total of 6 SATA III 6 GB / s ports so that we can connect our main mechanical and solid state hard drives. As a complement we have the option to install devices through the high-speed U.2 connection.

To check the stability of the 4.7 GHz Intel i7-7700k processor and motherboard, we have stressed both components with Prime95 Custom and air cooling.
