EK has officially announced the market launch of its first monoblock designed to work with the powerful AMD Ryzen Threadripper processors, which includes the company's latest coldplate design.

EK Launches New Block for Threadripper with New Improved Colplate Design

EK's new coldplate offers a larger thermal transfer surface area, covering a larger area of the large IHS of Threadripper processors, thereby allowing them to more efficiently transfer heat to the water block and thence to the liquid cooling circuit of the user. This move has been taken after the company received lower-than-expected scores on its first blocks of water for Threadripper processors. Threadripper processors have a very large IHS so heatsinks and water blocks have to be adapted to work with them correctly.

This monoblock will provide users with RGB LED strips that can be used on both mentioned motherboards, and can be controlled with Gigabyte's RGB Fusion app, giving users a great ability to customize colors and light effects. Its price is 126 euros.
