95% of google play children's apps are inappropriate
Table of contents:
In Google Play, the Android application store, we find a huge number of applications. Many of them are designed for children. Although these applications are not always appropriate. At least this is what a new study says. In it, it is stated that 95% of these applications for children in the Android store are unsuitable for them.
95% of Google Play apps for children are inadequate
There are a number of reasons why these applications are inappropriate for them. On the one hand, they share private data about children, or show inappropriate content for their age, or have a lot of shopping and advertising inside them.
Problems with apps on Google Play
That is why many of these applications that we find in Google Play violate the Children's Internet Privacy Protection Rule (COPPA). Many of these apps are advertised as safe in the family section of the app store. But the reality is that they are not safe. Since they carry out actions like the ones we have shown above. So they are not appropriate for children.
It has been the University of Michigan that analyzed 135 applications of those designed for children up to five years old. 95% had some type of advertising, and in many cases it could not be closed. In addition, they were advertisements that sought to influence children in the purchase of a product.
Although these applications are approved by Google Play, the reality is that they are not as secure as claimed. All of them violate some rule, which makes them not appropriate for children. And that this year from the store have deleted thousands of applications.
