Skylake is just around the corner, less than a month before its official launch and the first benchmarks are already being made to its most powerful representative, the Core i7 6700K, which sees a great improvement in its integrated graphics although its x86 part does not improves so much.

In the PC mark home test the new Intel chip outperforms the i7 4790K by just 6.7%, a figure that under the PC mark creative test drops to 2.8% and lastly in PC mark 8 conventional the i7 6700K is 1.1% lower than its predecessor.

In the integrated graphics we see a great improvement since in the Cinebench R15 Open GL test the new Skylake chip is 29.1% more powerful than the i7 4790K.

Nothing new under the sun, Intel dominates the market for x86 processors with an iron fist and it seems that we will continue to see very little improvement for each generation, unless AMD surprises with Zen and approaches the performance that Intel offers.
