Core i7 6700k points to good overclocking potential
The upcoming Intel Haswell processors could recover the good overclocking capacity that Sandy Bridges once showed and which was later lost with Ivy Bridge and mainly Haswell.
A SuperPi test has been leaked showing a Core i7 6700K Skylake overclocked at a 5.2 GHz frequency with a “ GELID The Black Edition ” heatsink and using the “GEILD GC-Extreme” thermal compound. For this, the processor voltage has been raised to 1.35v.
Not bad but we will have to wait to know more results and be able to see the true overclocking potential of the new intel chips, as well as the temperatures they reach.
