Apple's top-of-the-range smartphone, the iPhone X, accounted for 35 percent of total profits from mobile device sales globally in the fourth quarter of 2017, as revealed by new estimates recently released by Counterpoint. Research.

IPhone X sweeps profits

The new iPhone X has generated five times more benefits than the combined benefit of more than 600 manufacturers of Android smartphones during the quarter under study, and despite the fact that it was only available for purchase during the last two months of the year, and against numerous authorized voices that pointed towards sales, at least discreet.

Other models of Apple's iPhone, including the iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone 7, and iPhone 7 Plus, represented another truly important part of the global benefits of the smartphone market. In fact, iPhone devices occupy 8 of the top 10 rankings, as you can see in the graph above. Thus, Apple was the most profitable brand with 86% of the total earnings of the smartphone market.

On the other hand, while overall global earnings in this sector decreased by one percentage point compared to the fourth quarter of 2016, Apple's earnings grew 1% between 2016 and 2017.

Of course, before these estimates shared by Counterpoint Research, we must note that, since Apple does not divide iPhone sales by model, it is difficult to confirm the data proposed in this study, although the Cupertino company set new revenue records in the fourth quarter of 2017, with a total of 10, 700 million benefits from 52, 600 million in revenue. Overall, Apple sold 46.7 million iPhones during the last quarter of 2017.
