The Logitech G502 is an iconic gaming mouse. It is an absolute top seller that equips thousands of gamers worldwide, due to its extensive set of features and good quality. Now this has been revamped with the Logitech G502 HERO. Let's meet him.

New Logitech G502 Hero to succeed the Proteus Spectrum

Until now, the sensor that the Logitech G502 used was the Pixart PMW3366, which this mouse released and at the time was basically the best optical sensor on the market. Currently, it is still one of the best possible options and that will not give problems to practically any user, and it is incorporated by some of the most used mice in the world of eSports.

However, Logitech wanted to go further, and long ago introduced the Hero sensor, developed in conjunction with a Swiss company for precision scientific instruments. This new sensor takes much more measurements per second than the PMW3360 when on the move, while taking much less when at rest.

Therefore, the best thing that the Hero sensor has and the biggest advantage that it has compared to the PMW3360 is its energy efficiency, something that in this case is not relevant as it is a wired mouse, although its extremely high precision is also remarkable , being probably the best mouse sensor in the world.

It is clear that the sensor's own production and escaping Pixart's monopoly is something very positive for Logitech, so after testing its Mercury sensor for months on the ultra-cheap G203 and the Hero on the G603 (wireless), it seems who are already confident enough to take it to their best-known gaming mouse, the G502.

Other updates of this mouse over the previous one are the greater number of software profiles and the use of different OMRON switches, since they have gone from using the 20 million click durability model to the 50 million click model.

The new mouse will be available in October at a recommended price of 90 euros, although this is the same as the G502 and is actually much cheaper in stores. For between 40 and 60 euros, it would still be one of the best options on the market. What do you think of the new Logitech mouse?
