The incognito mode of google maps begins to be functional in android

The popular Google navigation application will soon receive an important update and, as they comment in the forum, it will arrive before on Android devices. Starting with beta-testers, Google Maps incognito mode is coming to all mobiles soon, but it will be a phased update.

Since it is not known how this new functionality will affect the total population, just as on other occasions it will be gradually released.

At first, a few users (prioritizing beta-testers) will receive this update, but it is not guaranteed. Therefore, even if you update to the latest version of the application, you may still not see this feature.

Something important to emphasize is that the incognito mode of Google Maps will not be a way to evade the permanent vigilance of the company.

Rather we can see it as a way to prevent the data collected from relating to you or your account. In other words, Google will still know that X people have visited a certain site, but will not know who (on paper).

According to the company itself, this mode is designed to:

• Do not save information in your browser and history, so it will not send you notifications. Do not update your Location History or Shared Location (if you have one) . Collect information anonymously, that is, without relating your personal account.

While it is not a perfect solution and still vulnerable to a few important things, it is a relatively interesting functionality.

The company has confirmed that searches and travel are still not stored with a unique identifier anyway , which slightly strengthens privacy.
