It was last October when Microsoft released a dark mode feature for its Office applications on the macOS Mojave operating system to Insiders in the fast ring. As promised, that feature is now available to all Microsoft Office users on Mojave with an Office 365 subscription.

Microsoft Office already offers dark mode to all Mojave users, in addition to other important improvements

According to new release notes released by Microsoft, the update increases the version number of Office applications to 16.20.0 (build 18120801). The latest iterations of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook now support the dark mode user interface at the operating system level, which was introduced by Apple in its macOS 10.14 Mojave announcement in June.

In addition to dark mode, Office-specific applications have also received their own share of updates. For example, embedded fonts have been added to Word to unify the appearance of text in a document on each PC. PowerPoint has also been updated to allow users to insert photos taken from an iPhone into a slide document with the integration of the Apple Continuity Camera.

For Outlook, Microsoft has added new calendar sharing capabilities, preventing attendees from sending meetings to others, joining meetings with Microsoft teams, and seeing participants for future meetings. Additionally, Excel and PowerPoint have received vulnerability fixes, while Microsoft Auto Update 4.6 includes new security catalogs to contain SHA-256 hashes instead of SHA-1.
