Rubber Dome Keyboards, the Sharkoon SKILLER SGK5

Sharkoon SKILLER SGK5 keyboard

Despite the fact that the gaming trend is pouring over the demand for mechanical keyboards, Sharkoon has decided to try its luck in another market. As a result, we have here the SKILLER SGK5, a keyboard whose main internal structure is its rubber dome.

In general, these keyboards offer a different feel than mechanical ones and are less resistant. In return, they are much lighter, the typing feel is very smooth and the price is much lower. Surely, you have already tried these keyboards in the typical ones that we find in offices and others, so it is a matter of taste to pounce on one like this or jump towards a mechanical device.

If you want to know other very good keyboards, you can follow our guide

As we see, it is a tremendously sexy keyboard. Its design, despite being based on plastic, is very satisfactory both in shape and colors. In addition, both the keys and the central panel are set in such a way that it is easier to type. On the other hand, the palm rest is made entirely of plastic and will be removable.

On the other hand, the keys have a whitish background that will help the RGB look vivid and impressive. We certainly don't see many full RGB non-mechanical keyboards and in this case it seems like a nice implementation.

On the left side we will have 5 buttons to control certain aspects of the equipment such as lighting, settings and others. On the other hand, on the top we will have 5 buttons to program macros and on the right side we will have 5 buttons to control the multimedia. Finally, we will have as extras two wheels to control the sound and brightness and three buttons to exchange already created profiles.

Control of profiles and multimedia

We will have the classic technologies such as anti-ghosting or gaming mode, which will disable the windows button. But that is not all, because we will have other interesting ones such as the exchange of the movement arrows for the "WASD" keys .

All of this can be edited and customized using Sharkoon's own software .

Similar to other products that the brand has presented, until we try them we will not be able to tell you with certainty if they will be good products. The proposal that it offers seems to us certainly low, so, depending on the price, the product may take flight or sink in the mud.
