The next intel atom 'tremont' core would be manufactured at 10nm
Table of contents:
Through internal Intel documentation, information has been uncovered about its next low-power processor. Codenamed Tremont, the new Intel ATOM is expected to be developed at 10nm (as opposed to Ice Lake) and bring performance and power improvements to the company's options for the integrated market.
Intel ATOM 'Tremont' improve performance and consumption compared to 'Goldmont Plus'
The Tremont CPU architecture will thus replace Goldmont Plus, which continues to be manufactured in the 14nm process. The new architecture is likely to receive some specific improvements in overall performance and the obvious improvement in consumption by moving to a smaller manufacturing process. New instruction sets will also be added: CLWB, GFNI (SSE based), ENCLV, split lock detection instruction set extensions, all of which extensions will also be introduced in Ice Lake cores. Other functions introduced specifically for Tremont, would be CLDEMOTE (direct storage and user waiting instructions).
In the documentation, we can see that the dates for Ice Lake and Tremont are in TBD, so we do not know the dates that we will be able to see these processors in the market. What is expected is that Ice Lake will arrive during 2019 together with Tremont.
Amd zen would finally be manufactured by tsmc at 16nm finfet
AMD would have decided to trust TSMC and its 16nm FinFET process to manufacture its new Zen processors because of GF's difficulties with 14nm
Intel cannonlake will arrive in 2017 manufactured at 10nm
The Tick-Tock cycle has been extended to three years and the next nm reduction will come in 2017 with the new Intel Cannonlake chips.
The next huawei chip will be manufactured in 5 nm
Huawei is working on its next processor, which will be the one that debuts in the Huawei Mate 40 this fall. For now Kirin 1020 is named as the same,
