In recent years, demand for mid-range and entry-level smartphones has exploded, thanks to emerging markets like India. Snapdragon 675 was recently announced to offer good performance within the mid-range, and at the date we have seen some results of this chip in Geekbench.
Snapdragon 675 - Geekbench performance revealed
Qualcomm's 6xx series of chips are touted as the company's mid-range offering and are often found in devices priced between $ 200 and $ 400. Last month Qualcomm introduced another mid-range SoC from the Snapdragon 6xx series: the Snapdragon 675. This is a close brother to the Snapdragon 670 and 710, but it's built on an 11nm node and features Qualcomm's fourth-generation Kryo core design.
SD675 would be superior to Snapdragon 710
Although no OEM has officially announced a Snapdragon 675 device yet, GSMArena has managed to find one on Geekbench. For now, all we know about the mystery device is that it runs on Android 9.0 Pie and has 4GB of RAM. We will have to wait a little longer for an OEM to step forward and take responsibility for which phone it belongs to.
Higher single or multi-core score confirms that the device is powered by a Snapdragon 675. Qualcomm's next-generation CPU cores make all the difference, giving it an edge over the Snapdragon 710. The Snapdragon 675 uses the same design. 2 + 6 core, but instead of 2x Cortex-A75, the 675 adopts ARM's new Cortex-A76 cores. For unknown reasons, the SD675 uses a less powerful Adreno 612 GPU. However, Qualcomm claims that it has been optimized to improve gaming performance, so its real-life performance remains to be seen.
