Apple's MacBook Pro was updated a year ago with the arrival of the seventh generation of Intel processors, the Kaby Lake. After these, the eighth generation Coffee Lake arrived and a few months later we have the first evidence of the arrival of a new generation of MacBook Pro computers.

New MacBook Pro with Coffee Lake are on the way

Intel announced in April the new U-series CPUs, which are used by Apple and Microsoft for their laptops. These new Coffee Lake-U processors come with a 28W TDP and Iris Plus graphics with a 128MB L4 cache, which should allow them to deliver great gaming performance.

A new model of MacBook Pro with a Core i7-8559U processor appeared in Geekbench obtaining a result of 4, 448 points in a single core and 16, 607 in multi-core. The presence of 16GB of LPDDR3 2133MHz memory and a 13-inch screen has also been confirmed. This score puts it above last year's 15-inch model in multi-core scoring. This new 13-inch MacBook Pro will be the first to have a quad-core processor, something that was previously exclusive to the 15-inch model.

The rest of the MacBook line seems to be stagnant, the 12-inch model, which uses Y series processors, has not been updated in more than two years, and it will not be soon, since Intel has not yet announced its processors. of the eighth generation of the Y series.

The MacBook Air is in an even worse situation, as the one being sold right now still uses a fifth-generation Broadwell processor, and it's the latest Apple product that doesn't offer a Retina display.
