Surface Pro LTE, delayed until at least spring 2018

The notification placed by Microsoft on the page of the Surface Pro LTE indicates the following:

"The new Surfae Pro with LTE connectivity will be available for purchase at retail stores in Spring 2018. We are excited to bring you a faster, lighter, quieter and more connected Surface Pro than ever before."

The new convertible tablet Surface Pro LTE will have 4G capabilities, so its price will surely be higher than the current Surface Pro, which reaches 949 euros for the model with Intel Core M3 CPU, 4 GB of RAM and 128 GB SSD.

More details will surely come to light during the CES 2018 event, where we could also see surprises in regards to the device's hardware specifications, with updated and more powerful components.

The only thing that is known at the moment is that the Surface Pro LTE will be available only with an Intel Core i5 processor, since the Snapdragon X16 modem is located in the same place where the fan is in the version with an Intel Core i7 CPU.

Microsoft also said that the presence of the LTE module will not affect the autonomy of the device too much, even when using mobile networks, in which case users will benefit from 90% of the current autonomy.

The exact reasons for this delay are not known, although several media have already contacted Microsoft in search of an answer and as soon as anything comes up we will update this post.
