Intel Broxton are the Goldmont microarchitecture chips that Intel prepares at 14nm to compete with the Qualcomm Snapdragon and Samsung Exynos mounted on the highest-end smartphones, the semiconductor giant has decided to delay them until 2016.

So in the coming year 2015 Intel will have to compete in the sector of smartphones and tablets of medium and medium-high range with its current SoC Bay Trail and Moorefield based on the Silvermont microarchitecture and manufactured in 22nm, it will also have the future Cherry Trail with Airmont microarchitecture at 14nm.

As for the low-end devices Intel prepares SoFIA SoCs at 28nm, based on cores used in Atom SoCs and manufactured by TSMC that will be sold to manufacturers such as Rodchip and Speadtrum. By the end of this year, dual-core versions of the SoFIA SoCs are expected, while the quad-core versions will arrive in early 2015 and will receive LTE connectivity in the middle of the year, being manufactured by Intel itself at 14nm.
