Optical zoom arrives at Nokia thanks to a Carl Zeiss patent

And the collaboration is already in full swing. Carl Zeiss has already patented a technology so that Nokia can have optical zoom on their smartphones. This is an innovative approach to implement such zoom on brand phones.

Carl Zeiss optical zoom

As mentioned, a new patent has already been registered with the German Patent and Trademark Office under the number DE102015218571A1, which refers to a "miniaturized zoom camera". The description of a combination of a camera with an image sensor, a zoom system and a housing that allows the user to change lenses depending on the need is discussed in it.

This optical zoom system developed by Carl Zeiss is made up of a group of lenses that is permanently installed. They will alternate with each other based on a small rotary motor. In this way, you can change from one lens to the other and thus offer different focal lengths.

The first images of that Carl Zeiss patent for Nokia have also been leaked. Now we have to wait for this technology to be put into use. We don't know anything about that, since no release dates have been revealed yet.
