EMUI 9.1 has been rolled out a few days ago, starting in China. The first two phones that have access to the new version of the customization layer are the Huawei P20 and P20 Pro. The two high-end models are already officially starting to receive this update, not only in China. In other countries it is launched as well.

The update is now official and is being launched through an OTA, as is usually the case in these cases. So it's just waiting to receive it on the phone.

Released in July

A couple of weeks ago it was confirmed that a selection of phones in Huawei were going to get the update to EMUI 9.1 this July. So that all of them would have access to it, with all the novelties that have been introduced. The chosen models are mostly the premium high and medium range of the Chinese brand, in many cases the most recent models.

The Huawei P20 and P20 Pro thus become the first. Throughout these weeks, the rest of the telephones will have to follow them, although at the moment no specific dates have been given for this. So it will depend on each model.

But the expectation is that in July they will finally have access to EMUI 9.1. We will be attentive to the deployment of the update, since there are quite a few brand phones that should have access to it. It should not be long before more models arrive.
