Intel core 'comet lake' specs: an i9 appears

It does not seem a coincidence that a few days after the shock caused by AMD with the launch of the third generation Ryzen series, a 'leak' comes out over the entire next range of tenth generation Intel processors, which use the 'Comet Lake' architecture.

Intel Core 'Comet Lake' 10th Gen series specifications leaked

In total you can see about 13 models of processors, which would be almost the entire Comet Lake range along with its specifications. The Comet Lake family is the continuation of several updates to the 14nm Skylake architecture that we have had since 2015. And yes, it will continue to use a 14nm node (+++).

The data was published on Computerbase which mentions that the original source is from a Chinese technology forum. There appears to be no significant change to the new alignment internally as it continues to be technically based on the same architecture as Skylake, along with improvements added from the process node.

At the top level of performance, we see the Intel Core i9-10900KF which features 10 cores and 20 threads. According to this data sheet, the Core i9 series with 10 cores starts at a price of $ 409 up to $ 499 with a total of three models. Currently, the Core i9-9900K (8 cores / 16 threads) can be found in stores for around $ 499, so this is quite surprising at this price. Regardless, in case this spec table is true, AMD continues to offer more cores for a similar price with the Ryzen 9 3900X .

As for the Core i7 'Comet Lake', we have two 8-core, 16-thread pieces that retail for $ 339 and $ 389. These parts are also priced lower than their ninth-generation predecessors for about $ 100 less, according to this leak. The i5s include four 6-core and 12-piece parts priced at around $ 179 and up to $ 269. This price is more or less in line with what the Core i5 models currently cost, although the Core i5-9400 is sold without Hyper-Threading.

Returning to the flagship of this new generation, the 10-core 20-core Core i9-10900KF has a 3.4 GHz base clock and a 5.2-core single-core clock. The chip has 20 MB of cache and a TDP of 105W. This processor would try to fight against the Ryzen 9 3900X that would have a similar price. Intel's strong suit, we know, is in the single-core workloads, so this hypothetical Core i9-10900KF should be able to beat the Ryzen 9 in this field, no matter that it has fewer cores.

As always, take this information with tweezers. We will keep you informed.
