These will be the news in ios 13 and watchos 6
Table of contents:
The week has started strong. Bloomberg recently released a lengthy report on what's new Apple is expected to include in iOS 13, watchOS 6, and macOS 10.15. We recall that we are less than a month away from knowing the new Apple operating systems for iOS and Mac devices, which will be announced during the inaugural session of WWDC 2019 that will start on June 3.
iOS 13
According to information released by Bloomberg , for iOS 13 Apple will refocus on performance and speed improvements, although work is also underway to provide a "cleaner look" for the widget screen. But aside from this, which we could qualify as mere "improvements", iOS 13 will be much more than an increase in performance.
The long-awaited dark mode is described with a “black and gray” appearance, which can be changed from the Control Center.
The Health application will incorporate a new screen with a daily report. In addition, new metrics will be added, such as tracking the volume at which we listen to music, and improving monitoring of the menstrual cycle.
New information from Bloomberg includes details on the redesigned Reminders app, updates to iMessage and Apple Books, frequent location options in Maps, and more. Apple Watch will get new Calculator applications, (audio) Books and Voice Notes, in addition to adding an App Store on the device so that users can download applications directly from the Watch.
The Reminders app will receive a new grid layout with sections for tasks due today, scheduled tasks, marked tasks, and more.
And since it has been previously filtered, the Sidecar function will be included, which adds support for a second screen for iPad and Mac users.
Time of use will get new features, including the option for parents to set limits based on individual contacts. For example, it could be configured in such a way that friends can only send messages within a set time, offering more precise control than limiting the entire Messaging application as before.
Maps will add frequent location features, Mail will block incoming emails from certain contacts, and the Find My iPhone and Find My Friends apps will be unified into a single application.
Regarding Messages, “stickers” versions of Animojis and Memojis will be incorporated, which will be available within a special section.
Bloomberg is also talking about a new sleep mode that will darken the lock screen, activate the "Do Not Disturb" feature, and silence notifications. In addition, the bedtime alert will be integrated with the Clock app and, somehow, would work with a new Apple Watch that will integrate sleep tracking functions.
As for the Home app, you'll get better integration with security cameras and add the ability to view previous recordings. And Safari ` could add a download manager.
As usual, the iPad will receive unique attention. Among the novelties I would highlight a new redesign of multitasking, a "modified" home screen and the ability to switch between several versions of the same application, and even compatibility with multiple windows.
watchOS 6 and Apple Watch
The Apple Watch will also receive a major update on watchOS 6. An App Store will be available on the Watch itself, thereby increasing the independence of the device. In addition, new applications will be included in the watch such as Voice Notes, Audiobooks, Calculator and health applications "Dose" and "Cycles" for monitoring medication and menstrual cycles.
New watchfaces will also be included and new complications will be added. According to Bloomberg, there will be a new "Gradient" dial, a classic "California" dial with Roman and Arabic numerals, a "Solar Analog" dial that would be a kind of sundial, and an "Infograph Subdial" dial that presents more complications.. New complications include headphone battery status, an add-on to the Books app for audiobook playback, and more.
macOS 10.15
About macOS 10.15 the Bloomberg report talks much less. It is reiterated that the epicenter of the 2019 update will be the UIKit of the "Marzipan" initiative, which aims to facilitate the compatibility of iOS applications on Mac.
On the other hand, the arrival of Time of use and Shortcuts to the Mac is also confirmed, as well as the introduction of Podcasts and Music as separate and independent applications to iTunes.
