At the beginning of July we were fortunate to be able to attend the MSI / AMD event, a meeting specifically to present the news that were to come. Both companies covered from their most basic products to the technologies they contained and we will briefly explain what we saw.

MSI & AMD event

We put you in context: The event was in Gerona, Catalonia, Spain and for a whole day, we were learning about new products and new news from MSI / AMD. Furthermore, we also had a time to fiddle with the devices and ask more closely about their insides.

MSI zone

In this first part, we briefly review the history of MSI , a company that has been renewed and changed a lot over the years. It is nothing related to hardware, but to think that MSI started its gaming journey back in 2012, 7 years ago… (What, do you feel old?)

Starting as a technology company like many others, over time it decided to opt for the gaming section. That is why today it is positioned as one of the most relevant in this field.

We had our first look at the next line of MSI-mounted RX charts, among which we found some interesting names.

We also had a look at the next Nvidia card models that the Taiwanese company will bring to the market . We really don't have any news, so it's not particularly eye-catching.

Something that does surprise us is that the RTX 2080 SUPER lacks the Gaming X model and does have other models with more moderate ventilation such as the Ventus or the Aero.

They also explained their peripherals to us above, but being honest, there was no revelation that we did not already know. As for mice, keyboards and others, everything belonged to previous generations, so it is not very relevant.

Something that may interest you are the different assembled equipment offered by the Taiwanese company. Currently, its main and most updated models are the MSI Infinite and the MSI Trident. They have different sizes and are designed for different audiences according to their power and components:

For users less experienced with assembling gaming equipment this is a good opportunity to get a powerful build. In addition, the grace is that many MSI chassis are special, since their boxes have technologies that not all companies present.

X570 motherboards

One of the most important points of the presentation was the analysis of the MSI X570 motherboards. Undoubtedly, it is the junction point of MSI / AMD and, specifically, the Taiwanese company has done an interesting job to adapt this new generation of plates to the Ryzen 3000.

Among other things, here are some slides showing some of the most exciting technologies that MSI motherboards present. From the operation of the dissipation of the board, going through the PCIe Gen 4 ports of two boards as well as some benefits of Wi-Fi 6 .

We are still waiting to know how the overclocking issue will evolve with these processors, but we intuit that it will improve with time. Above all, if we consider that we have investment in features such as the automatic overclock dial.
