EVGA is a manufacturer well known for its products such as power supplies or graphics cards, generally with a very good image. Although not everyone knows it, they have also been foraging into the motherboard market for years, with an increasing presence in our country. Today they have announced the availability of their new X299 MICRO 2 range, with Micro ATX format.

EVGA X299 MICRO 2, ready to support maximum performance CPUs

The new board comes to succeed the previous X299 MICRO range, for LGA2066 socket processors , among which are maximum performance proposals such as the 18-core Intel Core i9 7980XE.

Therefore, a good and powerful diet is necessary. This board incorporates no less than 14 power phases (it would be missing to see in which configuration), very conveniently cooled with a fan and powerful 'real' heatsinks (that is, focused on cooling and not on aesthetics). All this in turn will be powered by 2 8-pin EPS connectors and an additional 6-pin PCIe.

This board is designed for enthusiasts who want great performance and features in a small footprint.

The BIOS has also been revamped, with a new interface and several improvements in ease of use. Overclockers will appreciate that the BIOS itself has stress tests that allow you to check the stability of your overclock without having to enter the operating system. The most special specifications end with the use of an integrated Intel Wifi and Bluetooth module.

In short, we have a small but bulky board with large capacities for Intel's highest-performance processors, and surely for future updates to 22 cores on the LGA2066 platform. Of course, we do not have the price for this model.
